The fact that smoking reduces the risk of Parkinson's has been known for quite some time, but when the research studies were announced, there was always a caution such as this one: "Although cigarette smoking is too toxic to suggest as a treatment, if confirmed, these findings may guide future therapeutic strategies that attempt to suppress LRP in human brain by other means."

In fact, nicotine profoundly effects cognition. See these 695 studies: cognition nicotine - PubMed - NCBI

I suspect the vegetable angle might work for some, but not for those with extra needs such as ADHD. Thankfully, we have e-cigarettes and other THR products such as snus and dissolvables, that provide more nicotine than veggies without the ills caused by smoking.
