So i smoked marlboro reds for 13 years and the 10 years after that i smoked parliments and marlboro lights, i use .6 mg of nic in my ejuice, i chain vape all day and night with maybe 10 minutes to 1 hour breaks, if i get this new job i'm hoping to get, i probably have to go outside and vape so it will be less for me

anyways, my question is this, do you think it's better if i get a higher nic level in my ejuice or stay at .6, i chose this level because its close to what i was smoking (i think) and because im vaping all day long, i dont want to get sick or nic death :\ though i hear its very hard to die from just smoking cigs and/or vaping

Depends on how many cigarettes a day you used to smoke, but 6mg sounds low to me, especially if you feel the need to chain vape.

For the first year or so after I quit smoking I used a nic mg that allowed me to vape very close to the same way/frequency that I used to smoke.
For me,
1 pack of lights per day would be 8 ~ 12mg.
2 ppd = 12 ~ 14mg
1 pack of regular / full flavor = 18mg
2 ppd = 18mg ~ 24mg.
2+ ppd = 24mg+

I didn't get down to 6mg until about a month ago, everyone is different.

You should also take into consideration why you chain vape. Some part of the addiction of cigarettes is social / repetitive motion addiction. I found myself taking in too much nic when I first started because I loved the motion involved with vaping. I lowered from 18mg to 6mg in two weeks and 2 months later now I'm thinking of jumping to 3mg now. My suggestion would be to give it a shot using the same nic level.

It also depends how you vape. Do you drip or use a tank? I drip 3 mg but I use 6 mg in my tanks. When I quit I was a little over a pack a day and I used 24 mg in a tank. After a week I dropped to 12 mg still in a tank. Then I started dripping and had to go down to 6 mg. Its all about how you feel. What does the trick for you.

I would stick with 6mg and when things get tough just put a drop of ejuice on a toothpick and chew on that for a bit.

BTW I was smoking full flavor for 30+ years. Started vaping exclusively 3 months ago at 16mg. I am down to 0.6 mg
And yesterday I found out that I can go most of the day without vaping and no withdraws

Hard? It's almost an insurmountable challenge to die from nic toxicity (from inhalation, at least). At 6mg nicotine, you'd likely be hard-pressed to even get over-nic'd.

Long before you get physically sick or anything, you'd begin to feel light-headed, nauseous, get maybe some tunnel vision. Some people report hiccups. But at 6mg nicotine, I've never over-nic'd myself. At 12, on a dripper, is where you can potentially get some over-nic'ing going (at least for me).

Either way, this question comes up at least once a day. And truth is, there's no right answer. You can't equate nicotine in e-liquid to any # of cigarettes, because there are SO many variables involved. A cigarette has ~9-12mg of nicotine in it, but the absorption is FAR more effective in a cigarette than in a vape (from what I know), not to mention the thousands of other chemicals that are also giving you a buzz. I know people who smoked a few cigarettes a day, yet they vape 12+mg nicotine. On the same note, I know people who smoked packs a day (myself included), but now vape 0-6mg regularly. It's all preference, there really is no "right".

If you have to take outside breaks, I'd suggest getting some 24mg (2.4%) nicotine mixed with PG/VG. This way you can drip, or add to your tank, as necessary, if you find during the day that your current mix isn't giving you a proper fix for your craving. I don't find 50mg+ nicotine of any use really, 5-10 drops of 24mg in a 15mL bottle will really kick things up.

Also to the above user..

Don't orally ingest e-juice. Even if you know the nicotine content in said e-juice, and even if you are only using a drop, you can still potentially over-nic. The toxicity danger of nicotine comes into play far more when you speak of oral ingestion/dermal absorption compared to inhalation.

Ny, just for your information, If you chain vape, you orally ingest much more ejuice than chewing on a wet toothpick. The second the vapor gets in your mouth, some of it condenses and gets mixed with your saliva.

Yeah, of course, and there's also the "splatter" from a hot atomizer. I've ended up with a fair bit of straight e-liquid in my mouth.

That said, I just don't think it's advisable to encourage people to directly ingest e-liquid. If they've been vaping it and they're fine, that's one thing, I just don't want the dude with 36mg/mL to dip a toothpick in his e-juice and find some undesirable results..

i smoked about 1-2 packs a day, depended though how bored i was, as far as chain vaping i do it alot cuz i can vape indoors, before i couldnt smoke indoors. so i think its alot of boredom just sitting at my desk but who knows.

i was just wondering if i should increase the nicotine in my ejuice, i use tanks by the way, and see if i dont vape as much or if its ok to just vape all day and if i continue to, increasing the nic level will worsen my health etc. im wondering if its just better to continue chain vaping all day/night but keep the nic level to 6 mg.

i didnt chain smoke though but when i used to live alone and smoked indoors, i would smoke at least 2-4 cigs an hour, also depended if i was drunk xD

6mg = ultra light cig isn't exactly one to one. They get into your blood differently, and it sounds like you were already borderlining on chain smoking if you were doing 2 packs a day, even if they were lights. You're getting something out of it and upping to a higher dose of nicotine will just:

1. Give you a higher tolerance over time
2. Possibly make you enjoy it less due to blood pressure and other issues

I'm not sure when you actually switched to ecigs, but I think it was fairly recently. You'll often do it more simply because it's novel, and the flavors, etc. and you're also acclimating as your old rituals go away. From what you're describing that isn't you, you are craving a higher nicotine so much as just enjoying it so you keep doing it because you can. If you're feeling like you "can't get enough" then that's different.

Also recognize you can go longer than you do without nicotine, especially if stimulated. I chain vape more than I probably should around the computer, but then when I'm out and about I can go 3-4 hours until I start getting antsy, and even then a few quick hits of 6mg is enough to tide me over just fine.
