I have tried and tried to figure out how much nicotine was in the analogs I use to smoke but I was unable to get solid numbers even with google's help. As far as I can tell there was about 1mg of nic per smoke which works out to 20mg a pack. Once I realized that I started looking at my ejuice intake and quickly figured out that with ecigs I am close to tripling my daily nic intake. Well its no wonder I dont ever think about analogs anymore. I had no idea that was going on but regardless I am happy that I am no longer smoking analogs. I have already made juice order in reduced nic. levels (12mg) from 18mg I was just kinda shocked once I saw the numbers.

Things bring me to my question. About how much juice do you guys go through a day and at what nic level? Currently I am using about 3ml a day @18mg which works out to 54mg a day. Crazy right. I am not going to go back to smoking analogs for anything even if my nic level was 100mg a day but damm I was shocked to figure out how much nic. I was really getting.

i'm using 18mg juice right now and i chain vape so i know i am getting more than i was. sometimes i will vape till i get a nic buzz then put it down. it is hard because when i smoked i would smoke a cig then i would be good for a while with vaping there is no definitive end like that. anyway i said all that to say that i ordered more juice and it is all 12mg.

The average is between 2/3-5 mg per day. But that really depends a great deal on your setup. Certain setups can use almost double the amount of liquid.

I wouldn't be overly concerned at this point. Just listen to your body. Don't reduce the amount of nicotine too quickly. That's a mistake a lot of new people make and they find they're back on cigarettes.

can you please elaborate on this since they are both "smoked" and the nic. enters via the lungs-> blood stream. I am confused on why the uptake would be different.

And yes I vape way more then I smoked so I am not disagreeing with you just looking for a better understanding of why.
Thanks

This might help a little. As gthompson said, it's absorbed differently

I think it depends on the device as to how much juice a person goes through. Hi volters are going to use more juice, I also find SS wicks and atomizers like the DID consumer more juice. My consumption using a DID at 2.5 ohms is 6 mL / day at 20mg. When I'm using a LR 510 or 306 my consumption is usually less than 5mL at the same strength. My 4 mL tank, dual coil LR will last me about 10 hrs of pretty consistent vaping.

I'm not sure whether I vape a lot for something to do that keeps my hands and mouth busy or actual need for nicotine. I do know when I'm in meetings all day where vaping is inappropriate, I do get a little antsy after a few hours.

i would imagine your vaping habits would have a lot to do with it too. for example if you were to drip 3 drops in a addy and when it is done put it away for a half hour or more than you could use 18 or 24mg juice and be right where you were with analogs but if you were a pack a day smoker and now chain vape you should probably use 12 or lower. i am new to this so correct me if i'm wrong. i just know i was at a pack a day and now chain vape 18mg juice and find myself with a nic buzz quite often.

It is hard to do a comparison. A full flavor cig has about 24 mg of nic. The 1 mg of nic you are referring to is an average of how much your body absorbs from that one cig. If your juice is 18 mg per ml then how much nic are you really absorbing if you vape one ml? I am not sure if there have been any truly accurate conclusions drawn on that subject. At least I don't know of any. Its not hard for most people to tell when they are getting too much nic. Its not all that pleasant of an experience. Let your body do the talking. The lower nic level you can do and still be satisfied the better.

Many who cut their nic levels find they vape much more, not less and actually end up getting more nicotine. Nicotine from vaping is mostly absorbed through the mouth unlike smoking where the nicotine is mostly absorbed through the lungs.

I've noticed that too with vaping. I am vaping more than I was smoking but, unlike smoking, I'm only taking one or two hits at a time. I will be switching to levels when my bottle is done.

I have noticed this as well. I've been trying 18mg nic levels but may switch to 12mg to see if there is any difference.
