This is a great find.
It confirms the fact that I could've KILLED somebody at least several times in the past when I ran out of cigarettes, but not so much when my vape is unavailable for a while. I think most vapers have noticed that the craving for vapor is not nearly so intense as the craving for a cigarette. I'm very interested to see what additional additives to cigarettes are causing this. Gotta believe that the offending compound(s) / chemical(s) will eventually be identified.

I believe it will be very interesting to find out what they are, as well as if Big tobacco knows, what they know, and when they knew. (Also gotta believe that they DO know all about this......Just gotta love a good mystery.....)

Hehe, methinks they are preparing to excuse (with a z) the 90% fail rate of NRT products...

That sounds about right Uma. This also differentiates e cigarettes from cigarettes on the addiction front. They apparently don't have all the addictiveness of cigarettes, and this can be proven. I'll take this as good news.

Great find! I've been telling people that when I was first vaping (first few days with out cigarettes) I was having symptoms similar to panic attacks and had to have a few cigarettes with me at all times of I felt like I was going to flip out! That feeling passed after about 4 to 5 days off of cigarettes and only vaping. I knew there must have been some other addicting agents in tobacco cigs because now my vape cravings aren't near as strong as it was with tobacco cigs. Thanks for posting!

This study was done on rats, not on humans, and therefore the results are NOT scientifically applicable to humans.

Rats aren't humans, and humans aren't rats. That why the rat poison Coumadin kills rats, but is the most commonly used FDA approved blood thinner drug (also called warfarin) to treat blood clots in humans.

It's the dose that makes a poison.

Are you rubbishing this study Bill ?

I wonder if the Tar and Carbon Monoxide in cigarettes trigger those endorphins that your body gets addicted to? I wonder if there were any studies on those

With the 4-6000 chemicals in the tar and particulate matter I wonder if it is possible to find which one or combination is the major cause of addiction?

I suggest there aren't any scientific studies looking for several addictive combinations.
Why ?
There's no money it ... and who cares anyway if smokers live or die.
