If this has been answered before please direct me to where it may be... I am new to forums and am having trouble finding my answer.

I just got my first e-cig from the internet... not sure if I should disclose from where, but great service, awesome price and I couldn't be any more happy with the product.

I got the Kr808-d1 and have a question regarding nicotine levels.

After researching things a bit, I found out that a "normal" cigarette contains between .8 and 1.2mg of nicotine.

I am used to smoking camel lights or American spirit full flavors.

My question is, if the average cig. has only 1mg of nicotine in it, then what is the need for 8/16/24 mgs of nicotine in an e-cig?

The 24 mg that I have is quite harsh and lacks taste, although it is fine.

I have found that I enjoy the 16mg cartomizer much more but am still curious as to why there is so much nicotine per cartridge.

Any further explanation needed by me will be gladly supplied.

Thank you!

Equivalency issues aside, 24mg liquid contains 24mg per ml of liquid, which is actually quite a few puffs, depending on the user and the e-cig. The original intention I believe was that 24mg in a pack, and one cart = one pack, but I know that this has been rather hotly debated.

It's all a matter of what tastes good to you, and if the pre-fills are factory pre-fills that came with your unit, they may be a much lower quality than buying some of the premium juices and refilling or dripping.

I would suggest trying something along the line of Mrs. T's custom mixed juices, or something from any of the many vendors that carry flavored juice rather than the factory cartridges.

Bottom line for me is that I have to take a lot more puffs off an e-cig than an analog to get the same perceived nicotine "hit." I estimate about 6 times as many puffs.

And this is with 24 mg/ml juice. Weaker juice would require even more puffs.

This roughly agrees with some measurements I saw on blood nicotine levels.

Anyway, "thats my story and I'm sticking to it."

It depends, really, on how much you smoked, and how long a "drag" is on an e-cig. I've noticed that I take a 4-5 sec. drag on my e-cig, but only 1/2 sec on an analog. I started at 12 mg and haven't needed anything higher (in fact, i want to go lower). Then again, i didn't smoke much. Bottom line: vape the 24 and see if you are satasfied after a "session" of vaping (usually 3-4 drops is an analog for me in "time"). If you are satisfied, dont' worry about going higher. You can also cut the nic down with VG (or PG) and see if you are still happy with it.
