When you purchase a filled cartridge and the nicotine rating is say 6mg's of nicotine does that mean when the cartridge is empty you have consumed 6mg's of nicotine or is that per drag? When you are dripping and buy the 6mg e juice and you put three drops say in the blank cartridge does that mean that there is a total of 18mg's in the cartridge? I'm new to this and would really like to know how the nicotine rating works with the pre filled and with the blank cartridges while adding the e juice. Also, would you rather go with the DSE 901 or the Yeti 510? I can't make up my mind.

Technically, it's N milligrams of nicotine per gram of fluid, which works out basically to per 1ml of fluid. A 510 cart holds .5ml of fluid from a fresh, never used blank cart. However, you don't really drain the carts completely, nor you you necessarily absorb all of the nicotine even inhaled via vaping...some studies suggesting you only absorb perhaps 1/10th versus a normal cigarette, and one of the e-cig manufacturers was saying 1/6th for their 16mg 'high' carts.

There's a few links with more info on the above, and much discussion..most of us start out at medium to high, for fluids 16mg, 24mg, or 36mg, and 'adjust' from there to suit.

So every 1ml would be 6mg of nicotine? That is how I understand it after watching the video on here "Intro to Vaping". Does that sound correct?:D

That's how I understand it. Figure _roughly_ 20 drops per 1ml. And _roughly_ 1 drop per analog cig, so 1 pack per 1ml. But YMMV greatly when comparing, because the amount of nicotine in smoking*, say, ultra lights (0.4mg) compared to camel non-filters (1.7mg), the % solution you're using, and the amount of drops that are in a cartridge and how efficient your e-cig is picking up the juice.

    But check this chart:

Electronic Cigarette, E Cigarette - Density of Nicotine

Erowid Tobacco Vault : Info on Nicotine Content of Cigarette Brands

*the amount of nic _in_ a cig is different than the amount one gets when smoking it.

I just don't understand. I will be using the blank 510 cartridges. I will be using the 6mg ejuice. I'm trying to stay at around the nicotine level of 10 anologs so how many drips of the e juice should I be putting in a blank cartridge a day?

You should really read this thread:
    http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...s-regards-nicotine-content-12.html#post315040

(link is to a direct post linking to a report which covers what I mentioned above, but you should read the entire thread, really)

content in e-liquid != what your body absorbs. (nor is it in normal cigs, either, there's more nicotine in each that is not absorbed into your body..)
