I've spent a lot of money over the past 3 yrs on vape junk...a lot! It's all gone now, most of it broke and couldn't be repaired and some of it given away cause it sucked.

The REOs (and a few other custom made pieces) are the last man standing. From a function and satisfaction standpoint; they just work and keep on working. Any "fixes" ever needed are minor and not expensive and readily available.

Combine that with a great REO support community and it's game over.:)

I read a lot of people saying the increased vapor density caused them to reduce their nic too... I did recently reduce my nic, but not deliberately (I clacked when I should have clicked on my juice vendors site and ordered 4 months worth of 12 instead of 18). I increased my daily intake, and still felt a bit unsatisfied with my lower nic... That was 2 1/2 months ago, and I was actually sort of hoping the RM2 might help out a little with my low nic problem... While I am experiencing excellent vapor density, I'm still using more juice than I was before the lowering of my nic and I still feel like I'd prefer my 18. - I will note that the amount of juice consumed with the RM2 is probably quite a few less drags (inhales... puffs... toots... whatever we call it these days) than the same amount of juice through a 306, i06, or cisco aero... but I've ordered some nic to add to this last ~150 ml of 12mg. I'm looking seriously forward to its arrival tomorrow.

Well, I have some good news and some bad news. ;) The good news is I decided to give rebuilding and RDAs another shot, so I placed orders for a bunch of 6mg juice. The bad news is... I am going to wait on getting a Reo Grand. I want to get back into this without destroying my bank account, until I know I'm sticking with it this time, so I ordered a basic mech mod. HOWEVER, you guys have been really awesome, and if I stick with rebuilding I guarantee you that I will be back to get a Reo. Thanks!

NoooOOOooOOoooOOooOO!!!

Well ok.

Here's my :2c: I stalled. It was the money thing. "Am I really gonna spend that much on a block of metal?" And in their fashion a Reo does look sorta klunky. (Uh-oh - I just said that.) So I ended up buying this here and that there and the other thing...

Then someone here practically made me buy a Reo. After many, many PM's she sent me a 14500 mini and told me to either send it back if I didn't like it or buy it.

Then a funny thing happened: Even with that 'lil 14500 powered mini I stopped using all my other gear. Didn't even notice until a month went by that I hadn't picked up any of the "round tooby things" laying around. It just... happened.

Then I bought four five more. :D (Oops - I lost count.)

You really can't fully appreciate the design and construction of a Reo until you have one in your hands. Any objection I might have had to a plain, boxy design just disappeared when I saw how well designed and machined a Reo is. Once it's in your hands you just love holding onto it. No matter what you decide to screw onto it it just makes the experience so much better. (Well, except for that whole clearo thing you brought up. No, that ain't ever gonna happen with a Reo.)

Anyway, my point is (I think) is that my gear buying stopped dead in it's tracks at Reoville. I buy more Reos because I want a different size. Or a different color. And all Woodvilles are unique items. It's the paradox of being a Reonaut: You buy more of them - because they perform exactly the same. (Which we all agree is a good thing.) You don't have to buy more than one - but you just might...

Hay! I just noticed you're in Somerville. Don't make me come git you!

Haha, Rick, where have you been? I noticed YOU lived in Boston months ago! (I can't remember what thread(s) we were talking in.)

Anyway, trust me, I believe what you're saying 100%. My decision to buy a cheaper mech mod tonight was based on 2 things:

1. the only juice I own is 18mg, so buying a Reo would've meant the Reo, the RM2, AND multiple juices with lower nicotine. So for the money I would've spent on just the Reo alone, I got a mod, atomizer, wire, 2 batteries, a drip tip and (let's see here) 11 juices. But am I saying the quality of the mod I bought is better than the Reo? HELL nooooo (in Will Smith's voice). I wouldn't be surprised if in a couple weeks I'm vaping a Reo and this mech mod is in my drawer under my socks. But that brings me to #2...

2. I have tried rebuilding before, got frustrated (well... lazy and impatient) and sold all of the gear within a week. So I wanted to reboot my rebuilding by getting a cheap "classic" bottom button mech, and just drip.

So if it makes you feel better, don't look at it like I decided not to buy a Reo... look at it like I decided to buy something before my Reo. :)

I had to save up for this newest one. I even went over budget deciding to get a couple of RM2s. I've never thought much about money and I've never really had any respect for it... it's just the stuff I have sometimes that I trade for other stuff. When I have some, I can trade. When I don't, I can't.... Sometimes I can trade relatively freely, and sometimes I can't do any trading at all. This last couple years or so, even I have had to start trying to be a lot more careful and way more deliberate with my trading. It's a lot harder than it used to be to refresh the money supply. You aren't going to find many folks these days who don't understand trying to be cautious and responsible with your greenbacks.

The good news is that you found the nicest bunch of folks on ECF. And, in fact, not just the nicest - but I think the most genuinely helpful as well.

Are you kiddin me???? You got one up on me. Your just visiting....I already purchased ;). Seriously, this REO is AWESOME!!!! I'm so impressed with it and it's getting more use (sshhhhhhhhhhh) than my ProVari's and Tritions right now. Can't believe I just said that out loud.

I've been slightly lazy and didn't feel like rewicking or building the coil on the RM2 the other day and was out of juice and wanted a new flavor. I just blew out the tube, plopped in a new bottle and vaped...first few vapes had a mix flavor then WHAM..new flavor shining through. LOLOL it's FRICK'IN awesome.

Some seriously helpful (and fast) replies, thanks guys. So it sounds like if I take the Reo plunge I will definitely want to have lower nic juice. Oh well, at least it would give me an excuse to try more Nicoticket and Ahlusion flavors. ;)

I could never stop drinking coffee though! Ha

This is exactly what I keep reading and seeing in Reo videos over the years, and I think I'm almost ready to try it for myself. I think a lot of us are after the same thing. I just want to be able to stop obsessing over what the next thing is that I feel I "need" to buy, and just vape carefree knowing I've found the perfect combination of mod and atty/tank/whatever for me.
Then the Reo is definitely for you. I was chasing a better vape myself until I got a Reo. Now I won't run anything but bottom feeders and have been mostly cured of shiniyitis. The exception being more Reo's and wood bottom feeders. The thing is this setup just flat out works with zero hassles. Hell my wife swore she would never get a mechanical mod. 5 minutes after I got my Reo she tried it and immediately said to get her one. You couldn't pry it out of her hands now.

Some people might be dropping their nic % because many Reonauts are using rebuildables. I think many are using lower ohms with rebuildables than they did before while they were using cartos and 510, 306 atomizers. I think there maybe a connection between using lower ohms and dropping nicotine percentages. I've been using Reos for almost 4 years and I've dropped my nic level from 24-20mg. lol I go through about 5-6ml per day.

This!

I went from dripping in a regular 2 ohm atty at 8 watts to an RM2 1 ohm at 17 watts and doubled my juice intake. So I dropped from 18mg to 15mg.

HEY GUYS. So, I kind of just bought a Reo Grand.

colt45, if you happen to read this thread, thank you!

He was selling an anodized silver Grand for $110 and after you guys pumped me up I just could not resist. I'm very excited. I will have to order an RM2 in the near future, but for now I have about 10 to 12 Boge LR cartos sitting here literally collecting dust, so I will still get to try out my new toy.

Ah crap, I just realized something: I currently only own flat top batteries (a couple Sony VTC4's and an Efest 2000 mah IMR).

I have read in this sub-forum that with flat tops (and the original button and contacts, not the sub-ohm kit) you have to press the fire button down pretty far, and it's a sub-par experience. Does that mean I should order some AW batteries ASAP and not even touch my Reo until I get the new batteries in the mail?

Also, I'm assuming a rare earth magnet on the positive end of the battery is not a safe solution, because the mod is metal. Is that correct?

Sigh...

I used them for years. Aluminium is not magnetic. The slim danger is that (and this is verbatim how i was told this) 'your magnet may slip and jam and in a raw grand short to the case'.

But i had a powder coated grand and you have a silver one coming. I could not see if it was a raw tumbled one or some other silver finish you bought.

I bought a grand about 4 months after my ECF join date and used a magnet regardless until the new kits came out (not long ago!!), so it depends on your assessment of risk, and after all - if it all goes pear shaped, that's what a spring is for!
