Hi all,

I've only started vaping recently and I've managed to quit my smoking habit (thanks to vaping!), I currently use vampire vape e-liquid 6mg.

So does this mean that the whole 10ml bottle contains just over the equivalent (in nicotine) of 6 B&H GOLD cigarettes? (0.9mg of nicotine per cigarette)

Correct me if I'm wrong or missing something here.

Thanks!

Hello @adam77

Let me do my best.

Your liquid contains 6mg of Nicotine per ml of liquid. The total Nicotine in your bottle is therefore 60mg. (that's 3 packs of fags... but read on....)

Now, your cigarettes give a yield (you GET) of 0.9mg when smoked by a robot. They contain more than that before you smoke them.

(with me?)

If you vape 1ml of your liquid, you won't GET 6mg of Nicotine. You will get much less, similar to smoking, you lose a lot of Nicotine, but it's calculated differently.

We know it's not even 40%. We also know it must be more than 10%.

The REAL Question here is "is 6mg enough for you?" that depends how many you smoked and what power you vape at.

Every time I drop to 6mg, I suffer. I could buy more powerful equipment (it's not like I'm a beginner, by the way) but applying more power is not how I like to vape. I stick with 12mg at 14-18 watts. I could use 18mg at less power or 6mg at 30 watts or something.

If you want to know more, please ask away. :)

What e-cig do you have? What power do you use, or is it just a basic thing?
Is it working?

Hey @djsvapour

6mg per ml?! I was waay off! Glad to hear that most of it is lost in the vaping process though.

My e-cig doesn't have VV or VW it's very very basic, glass Aspire K1 1.5ml tank and a standard 650mah battery, I just use it to stop smoking really.

I guess I kind of knew 6mg per 10mil was too good to be true, which is why I asked lol! Thanks for taking the time to reply you really cleared things up!

Guess I need to try looking for 3mg nicotine because I vape quite a lot I must use a bottle in about 3-4 days.

djsvapour is correct - 6ml is calculated at a rate per liter.
With vaping, it is not just the nicotine. Cigarettes have tar and over 4000 other chemicals (some natural, some introduced to extend shelf life) that are released when burned. By vaping instead of smoking, you are saving yourself from thousands of pollutants.
I've been at this nearly four years now. I started at 18mg of nicotine, then dropped to 12mg. I've been dabbling in DIY for nearly a year now, and do my own e-liquids at 10mg.
All of which really doesn't mean much - other than whatever you are comfortable with is just fine. The main thing is you have freed yourself from tobacco. Vape Happy.

Sorry for multi-posting in your thread, but if you feel that you are vaping too often then are you doing so for nicotine, or simply to replace the cigarette 'habit' ?
Chain vaping can be common when starting out. There is a mental habit of reaching for that 'next smoke' that can controlled if you are aware of it. However, if you are chain vaping to reduced withdraws, then maybe you try temporarily going up to 9ml or even 12ml strength nicotine. just a thought...

Maybe not (sorry, getting a bit bossy there) ...

3-4 days per 10ml is about right. You don't need to drop unless you want to.

Let's call that 3ml per day. 3ml x 6mg liquid is not a lot of Nicotine after vaping. I would call that half a pack of cigarettes give or take.

How many did you smoke?

To add - using lower-power setups usually indicates using higher nic level liquids to achieve the same nicotine absorption effect over higher-power setups. More vapor = higher nicotine delivery.

This is a brilliant comment, and very important ! :)

No problems you can post as many times as you like!

I agree vaping is definitely a million miles better than smoking thanks to less chemicals. I just vape when I'm bored to be honest (it tastes a lot better than smoking too lol)

I used to smoke about 10 silk cuts a day before I started vaping, but I've become a lot more health conscious since than, so I'm cleaning up my intake, diet, vaping etc.

Good for you. Maybe you can drop really low if you were a Silk Cut smoker. Perhaps 3mg isn't so mad. Did those Silk Cut have a Nicotine mg rating?

@adam77 Hello and welcome to the forums!!! To help out with the calculations for you and to add to what others have been saying, I use 2 types of strengths. I use about 15 mls of 6 mg in my .7 ohm coil (Sigelei 100 watt). I also use about 4 mls of 24 mg in my 1.8 ohm coil (MVP and Kanger Emow). Calculating the total amount of nicotine used would be roughly the same. Total of 90mg per day on my sub ohm coil and about 96 mg per day on my higher ohm coil. I don't vape them together, just if I use one or the other for the day. You would notice I use lower mg on the lower ohm coil as it atomizes the nicotine more efficient. Different set ups will require different strengths. It all boils down to what it is to keep you off of smokes. To this day, even after a year, I feel comfortable on my 24 mg tootle puffing machine. I have noticed that it has dropped about to 3.5 mls on that one instead of 4 which is still 84 mg per day. Still close to the 90mg with subohm. Hope this helps.

Yes, they had 0.5mg per cigarette, I was thinking about buying a new battery too as I need to charge it various times throughout the day, do you guys think I need to buy more advanced equipment? I feel like a little fish swimming with the Sharks lol
It is ALWAYS good to have an extra battery while you have one charging. Nothing worse than trying to vape instead of smoking while you have only one battery and it needs to be charged. ;)

You be a little fish.... as long as you stay off the smokes. :)

More advanced? No, I don't get that feeling.

More battery life? Sure... we're all looking for that. It sounds as if you vape the same amount of liquid as me. I vape at higher power, so must 'puff' on it less often. (?)

I can only really talk in mAh (milliampere hours) I started with a 1,100 Riva eGo e-cigarette (after wasting a bl**** fortune on E-Lites nonsense). 1,100 did not do a day. 2,000 would have done me a day then, but not quite now

A 2,500mAh battery should see you through the day.
iStick 30w is 2,200 mAh. iStick 40w is 2,600 (I think)

There are loads of 'mod' devices on the market. The ones with a removable battery would take a good quality IMR/INR battery and they 'top out' at around 2,500-3,000 mAh

For example, this

KANGER KBOX MINI PLATINUM - Mods

with this

SAMSUNG INR 18650 25R 2500mAh 20A - Batteries & Chargers

should last a day. Worst case, 20-30 minutes of extra topping up.

Heck... I'm just going to buy that right now....

I am pleased to hear this. There seems to be such a move away from higher nicotine, what with sub-ohm boxes and tanks. It's all good (I try not to get involved) but 18mg and 24mg gets such a bad deal. I could happily use 24mg.... just vape a bit less, really.

Yep, it is all for what works for the person. We are all different in many ways except one. To get off of the smokes and reduce the harm with a healthier alternative with the exception of the few that meander on that never smoked in their life.

Sorry for the late reply didn't get much reception in Pizza Hut, I'm definitely going to look for a new battery as this one will probably die soon (it's not holding its charge for as long), maybe a new tank aswell, it's quite cold in my room when I leave it there overnight and use it the next morning it starts to leak from the air holes.

When it's cold and you start to fire it and the tank warms up, the air in the tank expands and pushes liquid out, flooding the coil and causeing leak through the airhole.

I'm using an aspire K1 tank, witch uses 1.8ohm coils, with a battery that that SMKD gave me (650mah).
You can continue with the K1, if you're happy with it, paired to a new mod using an EGo/510 adapter. I do this with my Aspire ET-S clearomisers paired to an iStick TC60 (replaceable 18650 battery) and can vape for several days on a charge using 1.6Ω coils @ 11W. There are lots of options for the single-18650 mods that would serve you very well into the future; I'd just make sure that whatever you end up with has step-down voltage capability if you're vaping below 4V / 10W.
