Okay, can someone please explain the nicotine amounts to me. I received my 510 today and everything was great but I think I may have buzzed my head out with nic. I Smoke a pack a day of capri's and stopped right away after I started vaping. Soo I bought 30ml 24mg of ejuice and started dripping and just felt nic buzzed out of my mind. What is one puff of a ecig to one puff of a real cig? How many puffs equal a real cig? If I buy a 5ml 24mg, is the nicotine level higher? How many puffs do you guys do, how often and what amounts of nic are you using? Thanks!

Which Capris? Full strength, lights or ultralights?

Generally, and assuming you are vaping about as much as you smoked...
if you smoked full-strength then 24mg would be a typical nic.
if lights, then 16-18mg (that is what I started on)
if ultralights, then 10-12mg may be enough
Some people need more, some don't, some vape a lot and need less.

You can't translate cigarette nic directly to ecig nic. But for me, I bought juice with the same nic as one pack of my smokes, and I vaped about 1.5 packs worth of drags per day (same as I smoked). As I got used to vaping, I started vaping more often and for fewer drags (still I think about 1.5-2 packs worth of drags per day). But if I vaped a lot in one sitting, I could get over-nicced with headache and rapid heartbeat and just yucky feeling.

Everyone is different. but I think if you smoked lights or ultralights or are vaping more than you smoked, maybe try lower nicotine juice.

The ml of the bottle has nothing to do with the strength of the nicotine. Nicotine is stated in mg per ml., not per bottle.

if you need to cut some juice down right away, get 99.x% USP Glycerin from Walmart (near the rubbing alcohol) or CVS etc. make sure there are no fragrances etc added. Plain USP Glycerin. That is VG. You can cut your juice with that. And maybe they will sell you an empty eyedrops bottle or you could get a dropper and use any container.

I think you should find a level you can vape as much as you need without feeling over-nicced.

The most common nic level used is 18-24mg HOWEVER we have discovered through trial and error that there is no correlation between what you used to smoke and how much nicotine you will need to start out with. I know it doesn't make sense, that's just the way it is.

I used to smoke 3/4 pack of camels a day and now I vape about 3-4ml of 24mg juice per day. I HAVE heard of people who used to smoke 3 to 4 packs a day only needing 12mg and others who smoked 1/2 pack of lights needing 36mg -- you just don't know.

When new members ask for advice about what to start with we generally recommend getting a lot of small sized (sample sized) e-liquids in different strengths and flavors.

The good news is that you CAN reduce the nicotine level by adding some VG to the juice that you have. Go to Walmart or Michaels and get a bottle of either Humco glycerin (near the rubbing alcohol or ask the pharmacist) or some Wilton's glycerin (near the specialty cake decorating stuff - like wedding cake decorating). Add that to your e-liquid 50/50 and you'll end up with 12mg e-liquid. The bad news is it'll also cut the flavoring by half -- at least you'll be able to vape it.

Here's some images of what you are looking for:

GOOD LUCK! :)

Sorry, no magic formula to be found. 5ml, 30ml, *ml is the size of the bottle. 24mg is the nicotine content. Sounds like you got one that might be too high for you, try getting something lower. I normally suggest getting something high (like 24mg) and 0mg (no nicotine) of the same flavor. That way you can mix some together (get some small 5ml empty bottles, their great for carrying around anyway) to find what is about right for you (no cravings for cigarettes, but not feeling dizzy). Some simple math is all it takes, if you put half and half (50/50) of the 24mg and 0mg you'll have 12mg, put 3/4 (75%) of the 24mg and 1/4 (25%) of 0mg you'll have 18mg, etc. Once you find what is right, just order that level (or as close to it as possible). Note that I said "of the same flavor" that way you're only changing the nicotine level and not flavorings (IE don't get just PG and try, you'll dilute the flavor and the nicotine).

Everyone is different, there is no way to say X = 1 puff. Remember that it's not just the nicotine in cigarettes you're addicted to, it's all the other chemicals as well. This is why it is different for everyone, some need higher nic than others to beat the cravings (though out of the 50+ people I've converted, 12mg seems to work pretty well for most PAD smokers).

If you don't want to deal with math, or mixing the two bottles together, just get a couple small (5-10ml) bottles at various nicotine levels. It will cost you a little more than just getting a bottle of 0mg and mixing to the right level, but is much easier.

Hi and welcome to ECF. 5ml of 24mg juice has the same nicotine content per puff as 30ml of 24mg. It's measured in mg/ml as in 24mg in each ml of juice. I vape pretty constantly throughout the day and sometimes chain vape. Usually it's a hit or two every few minutes. You can't really equate vaping with smoking. The nicotine isn't absorbed in the same way. I use 24mg juice all day and it works for me. Others need a higher or lower level, and that works for them.

If you're buzzing you probably need a lower nic level. If you can, buy some 18mg and some 12mg just in case the 18 is too low. If you like the flavor of the 24mg juice you have you can get some 12mg and mix it with the 24mg to make 18mg. It takes a little experimentation to find out what works for you. This seems especially true of flavors. It's pretty simple to narrow down your nic level, just buy some stronger and some weaker and vape them and see what satisfies you.

Nicotine amounts are listed per mL, so 24mg nicotine juice will have 24mg of nicotine for every 1mL of that juice. That means a 5mL bottle has 120mg of nicotine and a 30mL bottle has 720mg. On average, a regular-strength analog cigarette contains 1.2mg of nicotine, so vaping 1mL of 24mg juice is roughly equivalent to a pack of cigarettes.

However that doesn't tell the whole story. It's believed that vaping is not as efficient as smoking for nicotine delivery, so when you vape that 1mL of 24mg nicotine juice you're actually getting less than 24mg of nicotine absorbed into the body. Most heavy vapers will go through 2-3mL of juice per day, up to as much as 5mL or more.

There's a balance here that you need to find for yourself. For me, I smoked light cigarettes and was a PAD smoker, so math tells me that I'd probably want 12-14mg nic juice and vape 1mL or so per day. It turns out that, at least for me, 12mg wasn't strong enough. I bumped up to 24mg for a short period of time and that got me over the hump, and now I'm down to 18mg and vape about 1.5-2mL per day.

Better yet get some 0 mg of the same and dilute to whatever strength you want without losing flavor. I've tried diluting with VG and I don't care for the flavor loss.

That's the best option for sure, but if you are in a bind you can try diluting with the VG. It's not the best option, but it is what it is...

Wow this was very helpful, thanks all. I am definitly going with the zero mg stuff and mixing it. I bought my juice from ecigbestsave and I have a feeling that it's not "good" stuff. I also bought some cartridges and they did not give me that killer buzz at all.. Maybe they put crack in their liquids so you buy more from them??? Or am I just paranoid? :) Not a bad idea if you need sales.. Can anyone recommend the best place to buy ejuice from? I bought a ton from eastmall and they are on their way.. But I'm think I'm going to need a lot of no nic juices. I'd rather just smoke no nic and use a patch so I can puff constantly because, I find with ecigs I have no idea how to tell how much nic I have been ingesting, opposed to with real cigs I know, feel and taste exactly how much nic. But I did not think ecigs would be this good and they are AMAZING!!! No wonder you are all obsessed!! Thanks for the tips people!! Where should I buy some 0 nic juice from?? Like with virgina, normal tabacco,555, all of the regular flavors I've seen?????
