I'm a vampire.

OK, I'm not a vampire. But I HAVE been a night owl since I was a teenager. My most promising money-making endeavor nowadays is writing, and it matters not at what time of the day or night I do it.

Plus, I love the dark. When I was little, I was as afraid of it as any other kid, but at some point growing up I lost that fear, and gradually became more attached to darkness. An attachment that grew into the cockiness I have now in my life, often feeling that "I own the night. It belongs to me, and I'll fear no part of it".

So you see, I'm not really a vampire. But if one ever offers me a choice between mortality and immortality, even considering the endless thirst for blood, I'd likely take the latter. I have a lot more to say and write in this world, and I need more than another fifty years to get it all out.

I have really bad insomnia over the counter pm meds really don't help me at all. I use to spend my time playing Xbox at night and keep the baby asleep and happy. Now I keep the baby asleep and look at vape equipment.

My wife did hate my Xbox. Now she hates the wifi and 3G services. As of midnight I am 7 days smoke free. Happy to be a vaper now.

From what I've seen, insomnia is a vastly underrated malady. I hope you'll find something that will knock out the problem (no pun intended).

Great news that you traded in smoking for vaping, though. :)

+1 all that... except if some creature of the night was going to give me the dark kiss, I wish they'd done it about 15 yrs ago (when I was still "young and pretty"); I'd really hate to spend eternity looking like a frazzled 52 yr old.

I've been a night owl all my life, helped along to no end by jobs on the graveyard shift at Dennys and IHOP. Then we had an almost-fire when we lived in a mobile home, and even though we moved right after to a brick duplex, PTSD meant I had to be the "fire guard" -- I didn't sleep when the family was asleep for probably 5 yrs; I stayed up all night, got the kid off to school, and hit the bed till 3pm, shortly before he got home.

Once he grew up and left home, I more or less adjusted, and started going to bed by around 2am (early, for me!), but when I started obsessing with vaping and the ECF, my nocturnal habit came roaring back. Nowadays if I get to bed before 3am, that's an early night. :D

One of the excellent side effects of my nocturnal habits was that my son grew so used to my waking/sleeping hours while in utero, that after he was born he'd stay awake very late, and started sleeping thru the night until 9am when he was less than 3 months old. Other mothers just didn't get it, but they'd do the "responsible mom" thing and get their babe to bed by 7 or 8, and then wonder why the child was crying to be fed and changed at 3am. Idiots! :D

Yea insomnia is very hard on the ones that suffer from it. Not one the person who has but the ones around them also. You never know how one will act after being awake with no sleep for very long periods of time.

I myself can go from a person who will give the shirt off my back and than be one of the most hateful people around and than in a matter of second be the greatest person ever. I don't mean to its just how my body reacts.

I often scare people around me. I have tried almost everything but nothing has help. I also prefer the night opposed to the day. It tends to be easier at night to have a good time being awake. I think I like it better because less people awake at the these times. I don't have to deal with so much hostility at night than I do during the day.

I also love to vape it fills so much better than the smoke. I have been in the process of switching 4 people and I've only been vaping for seven dats. Which in turn make me fill better for helping someone's health and the ones around them.

I agree about the usual ones, Sominex, Nytol; it's basically just Benadryl (diphenhydramine); however I've found that Dramamine (dimenhydrinate) works a great deal better. Rather just putting you into a fog, it actually makes your eyelids heavy, and for me that signals 'sleepy' and my body cooperates.

They're both just antihistamines, but the heavy-eyelids effect works wonders for me.

I would rather be up and not than day. Today is was a good example of why in my area. It felt like 110 degrees outside today and now it is I'm the mid seventys. I'm more of a mild weather person. I like it not to hot and not to cold it is perfect for me outside right now. Today when I was outside I felt like I was going to passout within 30 to 60 seconds after being out there
