Ok, so I've been vaping for 8 months now, went the usual progression from e-go's to VV (with kanger protanks) to rebuildables/mods.

I started with a Nimbus on a king clone, and now have several mods and rebuildable atomizers.

I love the Nimbus (and one of my nimbus clones) and I mostly vape fruity/sweet juices with 0%.

Here is my challenge: I miss the convenience of a pro-tank when I'm not at home. So, I decided to try out some RAS's with tanks.

I got a Taifun GT clone (fasttech) and although I liked the convenience, the draw is tight and the flavor is very diluted (cotton setup).

Then I got a squape clone from 101, and it was horrible. Complete chemical taste.

So I just got an original Russian 91% today, and it's the best out of the tank lots, with good draw BUT when I use it and then use my nimbus with the same juice, I get twice the flavor that I get from the russian... and all of the tanks seem to leak out a bit out of the airhole...

Has anyone found a tank rebuildable that is as good of a flavor as a Nimbus with fruity juice?

I use pretty much the same setup (microcoils and organic cotton on all)!

Help!!! This is frustrating (and expensive!!!)

I'd hate to say this, but lots of clones seemed to improve on all these original designs one way or another, and namely in prices. Plenty work very well. Seems like air control is a major factor in taste, at least from my experience thus far.

Have you tried ekowool?

I've tried a 3mm setup in the Taifun...

I agree, I think airflow is a huge factor, I've drilled out my nimbus with pretty large holes.

That and the fact that you have two coils, where in all these tank setups you have just one...

Having said that, I've put old protank on one of my mods, and I'd hate to say it, but I got better flavor than say the Taifun...

If anyone knows of the best tank out there let me know!

I wouldn't give up on the R91 yet. Are you using microcoils? The amount of cotton you use and how it is placed in relation to the juice channels will make or break the performance of this atomizer. I have a full size Russian and a KFL + and I get flavor on par with a dripper. That said, it's taken me a while to figure out their nuances. It's worth it.

Yes, a 4.5 time wound 26 gauge micro at 90 degrees to the posts and organic cotton (2.5") that's loose enough to go through without snagging... the draw is fine, just not as much flavor...

I just got an Aqua clone this weekend and couldn't be happier with it. Sounds like you have a little more experience than I do, and I got it set up and working very well on the first try using cotton and dual micro coils. I think the flavor is great, it has adjustable air and juice flow, etc. I've been using it all day, and not one dry hit or gurgle. No leaks either, as long as you make sure to close off the airflow when you fill. I really like it!

i have all the RBAs you mentioned except for the squape.

i recently got an Aqua clone that i have been enjoying. For flavor, the best clone i own is the Kraken. With adjustable airflow, and a coil that you can access and play with and not have to empty the tank. i use a cotton ball wick and have fantastic results.
its 22mm and fits flush on my Nem.

The best tank atty, ITHAKA. easy dual coil with ready wires, great flavor and can control air flow, juice flow in two places, and can customize the atty with add ons and various pieces.

My 91% gets a lotta use as well.

More than anything though, i use drippers on a VW; or DC chimbus or Igo on a mech.

for flavor, Kraken & Ithaka

If you have weeping from the air hole, that means that you're flooding the coil. When the coil is flooded the vape will lack flavor and produce a poor cloud of vapor. The KFL type RBA's take a little while to get used to and find the sweet spot, but it's worth the effort. I like using a turbo coil/chimney coil/whatever. After you get the fiber density right you can't beat them for flavor and durability. I use hemp fiber in mine but have heard of others getting very good results from cotton. Here's a link that might be helpful.

Let's talk chimney micro coils.
