So I just got the nimbus dripping atomizer and so far I have not been having good luck, it seems no matter what I do I get dry hits, burning hits, or no vapor. I've tried about 20 different coils and wicks now. I even went and got the air holes drilled out to 1/16. I have tried running single coil with 28 and 32 gauge wire as well as dual coils. I've tried cotton yarn, cotton balls, and 3mm silica wick. My target coil was a single coil between 1.5-1.7 ohm. I'll try and post picks of the failed attempts but if anyone has some suggestions on how to set it up properly would be awesome, I'm about to throw it out the window as of now lol.

First thing, dont throw it out! Out of all the attys ive owned this one remains my favorite and still works like a champ!
Pictures would be extremely helpful but i would suggest you try micro coils. 10-12 wraps of 28g kanthal around a 1/16th inch drill bit wrapped touching. Look through the micro coils thread to see examples. This is by far my favorite setup in my nimbus. Flavor is on point and the vapor production is off the charts.

Post some pictures and report back! Good luck and dont give up!

Id recommend trying the micro coils and seeing how they work out for you. Micro coils with cotton have been the biggest success for me and i wont ever go back to silica or ekowool.

Is your air hole lined up with the coil? Is the coil fully saturated and wicked properly? You may be getting a hot leg somewhere.

Ya the airhole was always lined up, and I made sure there weren't any hot legs before wicking. I just got a 1.2-1.4ohm ribbon wire coil to work pretty well actually. Seems that to run a single coil I need to block off one of the airholes, any thoughts on that? I need to get a single running and wicking good before I do two.

I personally have never had trouble with the 2 holes and 1 coil problem except on my larger drilled attys. Easiest way is to find a thick small rubber band and block one off.

You may want to try different positions to the top cap as well. That can make a huge difference with some builds. Maybe have air pass across the coil rather than directly at it, that may solve the 2 hole issue. What are you using for wick?

From what i can tell it looks good. Make sure the screws are tightened down well but it looks like you got it. What were you expecting? It may be a little bit too airy of a draw for a single coil that high. Try a few less wraps and it should be perfect. Maybe do 9 or 10 wraps to get a little more power and it will fire up really nice.

Actually this has been much better then previous builds. I blocked one of the airholes and it seems to be hitting really nice. It's staying stable at 1.4 ohms which is good. My only real complaint is the amount of juice it holds. I feel like I can only get a solid 3-4 drags before I have to drip again with this little cotton. Thanks for the advice

In retrospect I may have had the airholes drilled out to much at 1/16 but that was the smallest size the shop could do. With one hole blocked off with a toothpick it's making big tasty clouds. Much much better now.

thats great to hear that your Nimbus is finally working out. You can start experimenting with a dual coil of 10 wraps each. Its straying to advanced territory but it will work out well for the Nimbus.

Yea today I'm going to try a single coil micro 10 wrap of 28. I just started getting into mech mods and rebuildable a so I only have an 800 effest and don't wanna push it to far and blow my face up. Running anything under 1.2 on it kinda scares me, I gotta go grab one of those green sony batteries and try dual microcoils.

You should really invest in some 18650 batteries (big ones). I have MNKE's which i love and have been using for quite some time now. Also a few AW's which are also great but not as high of an amp rate discharge. The sony's are great for super low ohm builds. Ive got a set up at .24 and my MNKE's are going strong! Anything that low though and batteries only last a few hours.
