I've come to the conclusion that I just hate this whole set up... No matter what I do I can't get a decent hit. It's either to burnt tasting, not enough vapor, to airy.... I've had it for a week and after a fresh build it tastes good for like 25 hits then it just sucks.... At this point I've tried it all. Back to cartos I guessz :/

how often are you dripping onto your wick? These symptoms sound like it isnt staying wet enough and the cotton is burning. with the amount of wick you're using it should be dripped on every 3 to 5 drags. I find myself dripping almost after every drag with some of my set ups. Try using some silica. Unravel it into strands and grab 2 or 3 strands and use a piece of kanthal to thread them through the micro coil. That way you dont have to worry about the wick burning.

No it's def staying wet, I've even pulled some wicks out to make sure. Some are browning a little but I tried to put less in. Now there's no browning but it just always feels like a very dry harsh hit... Might suck it up and have the local vape shop build me a new setup for the insane price of 8$ and see if I just suck at all aspects of rebuilding lol.

how are you rolling your cotton? i used to roll the entire piece in between me fingers and then insert thru micro coil. wich works but i would sometimes gets a not so perfect vape from it. watch xobeloot tutorial on how to roll cotton wick. basically you make sure to use a very small amount, and have the wick "fluffy". meaning dont roll it super tight between your fingers. just form the cotton by pressing it between fingers smoothly and then roll the ends to a tight point so you can feed it thru your coil. if you pull it thru and the cotton bunches up without sliding thru, you are using too much cotton! good luck and just dont get frustrated. this stuff is really easy once you get it.

I had problems like that before....some tips I got from around the forum and it worked for me...
-less is more....meaning try not to use long cotton wicks coz sometimes it cannot keep up with the juice demand therefore giving you a burnt taste. I just used 2 short wicks with both ends of the wick touching the bottom.
-do not roll your cotton too tight, cz cotton swells up a lot and if its rolled too tight the juice will bottleneck before it gets to the coil itself. a good rule of thumb is the wick should be loose enough to slide in and out of the coil with minimal resistance when dry.
-do not let the cotton singe coz sometimes when it does get singed you may not notice but the wick does get cut and another reason for dry or burnt taste

hope this helps and I am no expert, just speaking from what works for me...

thanks for the tips and advice. I'm pulling off loose pieces of cotton and gently pulling and twisting just enough so that it's not falling apart and thread it through. I feel like I'm using the a very small amount and it fits right in, and I cut the wick very short before making both ends touch the deck of the atty. idk it ends up making decent vapor but it's kinda harsh and flavor is just not there, my cartomizer is much better tasting then any coil I've built with cotton, or silica for that matter...

Ive noticed that some flavors work better in cartos than other builds. Id say give it a break for a little and then come back to it. I know how frustrating it can get to work with coils for a long time and not have a nice working build. Once you get it though the cartos will no longer do it for you! I can speak from experience.

Just a thought, Try a 3/32 size drill bit and wrap around that. That was my go to coil size for a long time before i was able to make a true micro coil. Id use 28g kanthal and do around 8 wraps. Meters around 1.0 if i remember correctly and it vapes quite nicely. And with a wider inner diameter of the coil the cotton can be a little bit thicker and easier to wick and troubleshoot. Ill snap some pictures of some of my builds and post them up here for reference on what i do!

So here is my normal wrap: 8 wraps of 26g kanthal at .76 ohms:

And again on my AGI:

This is what i wrap on all my of atomizers with the exception of my cloud chaser.

Here is the amount of cotton i generally use (generally i use less but i just snapped these quick):

Wicked:

And then wick cut and dripped with juice:

And to give a representation of how closei keep the coil to the top cap:

Hopefully this helps. I usually drip juice onto my cotton and wait about 5 to 10 minutes while it really soaks in before i vape it. This is my favorite setup i have and this identical build is in most of my attys. Produces great flavor and vapor

So I feel like my coil and wick are identical to what you have set up. Now my current microcoil is about 12/13 wraps at 1.5 ohms. I've tried a few and this one seems to have the least amount of burnt taste. So I've had one coil and wick going for over a day now. Now I probably smoked about 1-2ml tops and last night the flavor was ok but basically this morning I took 2 drags and could not stop coughing compared to a carto.... It's so weird. It's making tons of vapor it's just so harsh on my throat... I'm def taking a break on coils and this stuff til after the holiday and what not. Then I'm gonna have someone else do a build for me. I'm really baffled at this whole situation with my
Nimbus. I figured buying one of the higher end drippers would make things easier, but hands down my octopus stock tasted better then this nimbus, I could never recoil the mini octopus with a coil I enjoyed though.
