While I'm not looking forward to forced regulation, I am in agreement that the safety of the products, most specifically e-liquids, do need manufacturing standards and QA testing.

I like the standards that AEMSA.org has in place and that's why we decided to join them and be approved. FDA seemed interested enough in what AEMSA had to say to have them present a second time AEMSA Returns to the FDA for Second Session | AEMSA

I like that ideas and efforts of AEMSA. They along with CASAA seem to be making the most difference (though we haven't seen the final results yet). I understand some folks don't approve of them, but unfortunately, we all are going to have our vaping habits hindered a bit after regulations are set. I do not think for a moment that things can or will continue as they are. Everyone is going to be affected. I thank ALL who have stepped up to the plate, to fight for our rights, including the folks at AEMSA.

In a free market, there will be nothing to prevent any "little guy" from obtaining sellable goods .. the "big guys" will get the required approvals / testings / certifications / etc and offer the "little guy" the opportunity to open a wholesale account ..

If it gets to that point we are all screwed, as consumers will only have BT products to buy! I don't see them expanding their product base far beyond where it is now. You have been around longer than I've been, I am sure you are aware of this already:)

Myself, I believe that until we actually have a real idea of what the future holds, then I like to stay optimistic .. I believe the PV Genie is out of the bottle and it will be impossible to put it back in .. I also believe a degree of regulation is needed and the Mom and Pop industry should have gotten organized on that Bandwagon a long time ago ..

I've been advocating reasonable and responsible public health and safety laws and regulations for the past 3 decades, but the "deeming" regulation that FDA has stated (since April 25, 2011) its intent to propose/approve would threaten consumer and public health and protect cigarette markets. Please read the following.

Godshall presentation on FDA Deeming Regulation at the 4/23/13 Food Drug and Law Institute's annual conference in DC.
