I have no intention on ever quitting smoking. Just tell yourself that vaping and smoking are the same thing. I haven't have an analog since the 6th of July and unless im really PO'd it doesnt bother me at all. If you go 7 days without an analog you wont pick one back up. You'll be to used to "smoking" something that actually tastes good.

I know that they are different but in my mind its the same thing and it works for me.

It's okay to tell yourself that if it helps you quit inhaling the smoke produced by burning plants.
But please don't tell anyone else that, except for MAYBE a current smoker who thinks that's what they want to hear.

Can't describe the grass as crunchy here this year, more like walking on a wet sponge. I'm glad you survived Katrina and the fire and are getting better. I have times when I have to resort to half a Xanax too but they get less frequent and there are longer intervals between, on an average a 30 day prescription will last me about a year.

Now for the breaking news, my kit and first order of juice arrived, I got a few extra clearomizers and a pack of replacement coils along with a 5 pack of Boge cartomizers. I didn't know whether I would like the sweet juices or not but ordered a few anyway and the two I've tried so far are quite good. I have another order of juice from MBV coming and can see that I will be making another order soon of some lower voltage juices.

Ya never know. I used to smoke menthol "lights" but hate menthol vapes. Thought I wanted a "tobacco" flavor. Ended up liking fruit vapors. Go figure?

Thanks to you and others here getting this up and running was a snap, thank you for all of your help, I really appreciate it. :)

Now my artists' mind is thinking of ways to dress this up a bit, hmmmmmmmmm. I do have a paper/vinyl cutter that is computerized and I can draw my own designs and then cut them out of vinyl, and I have a ton of nice vinyl. I also have a ton of nice silver and gold plate wire and gemstones from a stint of jewelry making a few years ago.

Heh. You'll fit in here fine. There are whole threads around dedicated to decorating PVs. :)

I made a conscious decision to quit regular smokes as soon as I started vaping, but I was wrong in assuming it would be a difficult transition for me. In fact, it turned out to be easy because I don't have to deal with the smell, the taste, waking up in the morning feeling like I had slept with a pillow over my face, or all that gunk that builds up in the sinuses.

Sounds like you're doing a great job kicking the habit though, and that's all that counts!

When I first started vaping in early 2012, I never intended on quitting. I had just bought a Volcano inferno(ego-c) to puff on when I feel like I didnt need a full cigarette. I eventually found myself liking using my inferno more than actually smoking. It led me to completely stop smoking cigarettes for about nine months.

Since spring/summer came around, Ive been partying/drinking a lot lately..lol. Which kind of led me back into smoking real cigarettes. I still vape more often than I smoke, and do eventually plan on getting off cigarettes again.

Down from 15-20 per day to 3-4 in about 5 weeks... Researching upgrades ATM to finally get myself over the line.

For some reason I always keep smoking an analog or two first thing in the morning, and the same at night after dinner... In between I seem to be OK (using pen-ecigs with cartos) but from reading all this can't help but feel that something with a bit more kick might make me forget about regular smokes all together.

They still haunt me. But only a little :)

To those who are still smoking, I offer you a challenge. Go three days without one. Vape vape vape and no cigarettes. I bet after going those three days you'll like seeing the days add up and not want to ruin the streak.

At least that's what worked for me. I have an app on my phone that tracks my days, and I love seeing them add up. I wouldn't want to ruin it now!

In just one week I've saved $60 bucks! So this month I will save $240. Thank GOD for the people here, I would have never given vaping a second shot without this thread!
Btw, congrats to you on you success getting free!
What's the name of the App you use to keep track?

i found with the first cig of the day craving that if i used a higher nic value have a few vapes have breakfast /coffee etc have a few more vapes then switch to my slighty lower all day vape the morning crave stopped after about a month

Now that is something I may want to try. I did make it home without one for my 1 hr drive home from the city with my Mom who is 80..for me that is pretty darn good. Just kept the Puritank on my lap and hit off of it every few minutes. I could have used some stronger nic though.

Did that a while myself. Eventually reached a point where the thought of a cig first thing in the morning sounded kind of repulsive...

The app is called QuitIt. There seems to a bunch of similar ones, this is just the one I ended up with. It tracks days, cigarettes, tar, and money. Here's a screenshot from just now for inspiration :)

When you click on "Health" at the bottom it gives you information about the latest benefits you've gained based on time since last cigarette. It's quite motivational!

I quit an almost 15 year habit within 3 days of vaping, never thought I would ever be able to quit. One of the first things I loved about vaping was being able to use it in the house, to be able to use it while laying in my own bed felt amazing to me. Now just like so many others the smell and taste of cigs is pretty sickening to me. Though I don't fault people who smoke cigs because I understand vaping isn't for everyone. Once in a great while I will take one of my guys cigs just to see and yup by the 3rd or 4th drag I'm stomping it out.

Funny enough, I started smoking with clove cigarettes when I was around 15 or 16 years old and smoked as much for the taste as anything. Now, switching to vaping from cigs, the few times over the past 3 weeks I have tried a smoke, it started to taste really bad and just reinforced that quitting was a good thing. I do not think I will be temped to go back, but I do not mind the smell of burning tobacco. I don't think I will ever be one of those anti-smoking nazis.

I'm going to try this. The more I read, learn & continue vaping the more I'm figuring I need a higher nic value during certain times of the day. I'm still smoke free, but I've struggled with thinking about buying a pack of cigs. It's weird, I feel like something is missing during certain times of the day, usually when I'm used of having to go outside for a cig which was ALL THE TIME. After coffee in the AM, during a read after pr bfast, lunch, dinner, eating out, shopping, before bed etc... it's so weird, I have all this extra time and money, it's almost to good to be true. I sure hope the laws that some cities are passing by blocking the sales of ecigs won't eventually reach us, I just joined a group here to fight the a**hole politicians from regulating them.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'll go out on the patio to vape, and find myself reaching over to the table where the Marlboro's used to
always be. I did keep smoking kinda' like what you're describing, but I guess I got the "ritual" of getting the cigarette, getting the lighter,
lighting up, etc, etc..., just kinda' disappeared slowly over a matter of time.
'Hope you do quit for good.

That's exactly what I mean. It's the ritual of NOT smoking in different areas that's hard for me to get used to. I used to sit in my "office smoking chair" in the garage to light up. I did a lot of thinking this way, paid bills made calls, paced the floor etc.. Now I don't feel like I need a cig and my body (or rather my brain) is telling me to move around. I suspect it's more energy now because I'm not putting 4000 chemicals into my blood stream. I went and got a year membership to Snap fitness and started walking. I can't believe how great it is to be smoke free. It's effected EVERY area of my life positively. Day 20 and I'm not looking back anymore, it's getting easier and easier!
