my wife has a provari, and right now we are quite unhappy with it. all of the electronics seem to function, the led screen functions. the problem we are having with it, it eats atomizers. i put 2 brand new atomizers on the unit and it killed them both almost instantly. if you attempt to read the resistance of the atty, it gives a number for a short time and then it states "OP" and the atty is dead after that. im guessing OP means "open". with the stupid expensive price of the provari, we were expecting to get several years out of it. it is literally the most expensive pv on market and it has let us down. this is after we just bought an additional battery for the stupid thing, now i dont know what to do with a brand new battery. this provari is only 4 months old. i have had much better luck with my epower which costs a small fraction of what the provari costs.

i also wanted to comment on the success both my wife and i have had with vaping. we have both been off the nasties since about November. i was the first to quit and my wife followed my example with some encouragement. we also have another couple our age that we got to quit smoking using an ecig. if the continues to catch on the big tobacco companies will no longer be able to sell their poisonous product. i say they can go to ****, selling death and disease should not be a business. they are in a business addicting and killing people intentionally they should be driven out of existence.

The mod has to fire up the atty to check the resistance. The only thing I can think might be happening is the atty is to dry and when it fires to give you the resistance could be poping the atty. Make sure it's got plenty of liquid before you check it, if your not sure flood it, better to be on the safe side. There's a lot of Provari owners out there and if it was wide spread issue we'd be reading about it.

Congrats on your success staying away from the stinkies...

I don't have a ProVari so I can't comment on it "eating atomizers", but it isn't the most expensive PV on the market. $$$ doesn't always mean better. Stick with what works well for you.

I don't own one either but have researched extensively....I just believe and have found sometimes if not most of the time it's best to do some homework before commenting. It's not the most expensive and once the OP gets the issue worked out it may just be for him.....seems like about all who own one really like it. Very solid mod.

agreed, never check an dry atty, be sure that puppy is good and wet before checking the resistance

well we tried several attys including a couple that were already in use and working with juice in them. the provari killed them instantly, every last one of them (probably 3 of them). at 8 bucks a piece im afraid to try any more attys since i know it will probably fry them. oh, yeah voltage set at 3.8V, hardly high enough to kill them.

Never said the ProVari isn't a solid mod. It wouldn't be as popular as it is if its users didn't like it and it didn't work well. And I definitely didn't say it was the most expensive either... I did say that just because a PV is expensive, that doesn't automatically make it better. I have several PVs from simple pen styles to the Darwin and I like them all, but for different reasons.

Op.. The provari is by no means the most expensive pv. If you have only had it 4 months it is still under warranty unless you got it off the classys... Anywho contact David at provape and he will fix it for you... The protection in a provari should not be allowing this to happen.. I have owned provari's for 10 months.... Only popped 2 attys in that time... And thy were both brand new and dry... User error... Not the provari's fault

Contact Provape. Something must be wrong with it. Asking here probably will not help you get an answer to your problem. Good luck.

I've had mine fry a marginal carto before, but the resistance kept fluctuating on it, so it was about to go. I've not heard of anyone else having something like that happen. It does sound like the ProVari is outputting something unexpected. If you have a multi-meter you could check and see what voltage is coming out the connector. I agree with the other posters, probably time for a warranty repair.

i just used my provari to check ohms on LR,SR and HR attys with no problem,,think you need to send it back to provape
