I'd been vaping on-and-off for 2 years and using eLiquid exclusively for 3 months - until two weeks ago. For a while before the day I decided to move on from Nicotine consumption, I'd had a niggling feeling of wanting to move away from all of my addictions and dependencies. On multiple occasions I attempted to quit vaping but I was unable to leave it behind; I often managed not to Vape for a day or two before reaching into the draw I'd stuffed my mods into and inhaling the wonderful nectar.

Then one day, I decided enough was enough. I'd already reduced my Nicotine level down from 28mg to 11mg but I was vaping more throughout the day to make up for it. I threw all my eLiquid and DIY supplies out (giving the Nicotine to a fellow Vaper) and took the batteries to the local recycling centre for disposal.

Two weeks on and I'm feeling better in myself than I felt when I was Vaping. I feel healthier and I'm glad that I'm not missing the feeling as much as I believed I would. For the first few days I had some really intense cravings for a Vape and even for a cigarette but they always passed within twenty minutes of starting.

I don't miss Vaping but I miss the local Vaping community. I appreciate that most people on the forums see Vaping as harm reduction as opposed to Nicotine Replacement Therapy. However, I've found that quitting Vaping was 10x easier than trying to quit smoking. So really, Vaping did help me to completely stop Nicotine consumption.

With the help of my psychiatrist I've also completely left behind all my medication and haven't consumed any largely caffeinated beverages (Coca Cola, Coffee, Tea, Mountain Dew, etc) for three weeks. I've also made a vow not to consume alcohol.

Vaping has been a journey of self discovery for me and has shown me that a lot of the things you believe you do need, you actually don't need at all.

Thank you everyone for the support with those dastardly problems - your help stopped me from going back to cigarettes. Congratulations to all for quitting smoking and enjoy your extended life and improved health.

Congrats bud , i think many lose sight of what their initial goal was a while back . Some may have wanted to quit analogs and with vaping many have succeeded but if you don't watch yourself vaping can be a whole new problem and it can get out of hand quick if your goal is to beat nicotine.

It's one reason why i haven't purchased mods and collected vape gear , i see it as something that will most likely prevent you from stopping more than help you.

I keep it very simple for now with mostly disposable stuff since if i come to the point of wanting to stop i won't have all this gear to deal with and it saves me money as well.

What a great story!

It shows we are masters of our fate, and that sometimes, just making up your mind about something, with the help of understanding our inner motivations, can really help.

I got that reading Allen Carr's Easy Way to Quit Smoking. I just applied it to other areas of my life, like losing weight, lowering my cholesterol, transitioning to vaping, and then finally to vaping very little and now no nic. I strongly believe that it does require a bit of self-awareness and self-examination to be successful in all endeavors. 90% is psychological and emotional not physical.

congrats, and just because you are not vaping anymore doesn't mean you have to leave the community. I'm sure you learned a lot about vaping that you can pass on to others.

Best of luck to you going forward!

Best wishes on the Road ahead. Glad you worked to a healthy resolve.

Don't know that I'll ever get rid if everything. Even Vaping at Low levels is enjoyable for me and likely I'll be Nic free by years end. Succeed or fail at that goal, I'll likely keep vaping for the shear enjoyment.(Kind of like a favorable food craving:))

You are a better man than I am.
