Well survived my first 24 hrs of not having an analog

I just got my Totally Wicked Tornado RCS (love its USB passthru ability while I work!)

Using the 1.8% (I guess 18mg) American Red tobacco...might start up on the frufru flavors soon...

Me and the wife are gonna quit smoking analogs...tried the "ultra lights" and we each ended up burning thru a pack+ a day...4-6 cartons in about a month...so calculated savings is over $2K a year at least!

I have noticed a propensity to "chain vape" but its better than sucking down an analog and the 4000 chemicals in em

Been researching my .... off...hope to kick the analog habit asap!

Congratulations to you both. You may need 24 mg at first to stop the worst of the cravings, but that will stop soon. In no time you'll decide analogs smell and taste horrible.

And just wait until you discover your favorite non tobacco flavors, like salted caramel, various chocolates, coffees, mints, fruits, whatever you like - oh boy does a vape sound a heck of a lot tastier than an analog stunk stick. :)

As for the savings, yeah, I was a 2.5 to 3 PAD smoker and, my siggy tells the tail.

Welcome and congratulations! I started on e-cigs Sunday and have been cutting back on analogs. Today will be down to 8-9 from 2-3 PAD. I had smoked b&h 100 ultra lights menthols and that increased my smoking dramatically.

I'm envious of you having passthrough.... I had BOTH Ego batteries run out last night and only have 1 charger. Now I know to make sure I am charging when not using.

Congratulations on your first day!! Keep strong! I gave up the analogs on Dec 25th, 2012 and have neither turned back nor had even a moment's temptation!! I will confess that this was not about savings alone and more about the the health consequences that we all only know too well related to the analogs! I also will say that these past eight months have been very expensive, plowing through the myriad of options in the vaping world, buying everything in sight and trying out any and all designs and technology to ensure that I would find the Holy Grail that I suspected existed in E-Cigs to make sure I would find something that would work reliably and consistently! There is something about pulling out that pack of Parliaments, grabbing those recessed filters and reproducing that addiction without fail, time after time. It wasn't like that for me with e-cigs at the outset. The industry is neither fully mature nor in any way standardized but in the end, it was all worth it! Enjoy your journey and don't look back! Glad to provide any pointers/suggestions should you ever need to inquire. Best. MadMax

Welcome to you and the wife. You are on the right road. Don't set yourself up to certain goals. Just know you have made it 24 hours and you should pat each other on the back. Just vape and don't put too much worry especially at the beginning. There is so much to this "hobby" and you will take in some much opinion, knowledge, and support. Take it easy and vape....it will come as days start to add up. good luck

Welcome to the forum and congrats to you and your wife on your decision to quit smoking, if you find your having a really difficult time you could up your nic to 24 or have some 24 on hand for those really tough times. If the 18 works for you that's great, also please be sure to drink plenty of water as vaping is dehydrating and it helps you detox. Enjoy your vape :)

Yeah it took me about a week to let them go...I tentatively stepped away from analogs

Yesterday I had a fresh pack in the truck...but made it a point NOT to walk downstairs for my break and vape at my desk...then fought the urge to snag one on the drive home...made it the full 24 and going strong...

Today, didn't even bring a pack with me!

Never thought I could go from being a 30 year, pack a day, Marlboro Reds gal to vaping. I had tried everything to kick the sticks, and the vaping has worked very well. Love that I'm still getting my nicotene fix, and doing quite well at the 18 mg. Although, I do have a couple of 24 mg on stand by if I feel the need for a little bit more. Crazy thing is, I don't really care for the tobacco flavors. I'm digging the sweet strong fruits. :2cool:

Congrats to everyone here. I've been lurking here for a while but finally signed up today. The first 3 days were the hardest for me. I tried to get into electronic cigs back in 2006 but the one I bought just didn't do it for me. Apr of this year I bought an Eroll and quit cigs on the spot. I had a new pack of cigs for 2 month and then gave them to one of my friends who still smokes. Smoker for 20 years, sometimes a pack a day sometimes up to 3, it was really effecting the things I like to do. I've been 4 months cig free and now I can mountain bike better, run better and TASTE my food!! Keep at it and the cigs will seem like a distant memory. I really feel that the hobby side of vaping help too, not for everyone I know, but I love modifying anything I can and that has really helped me to fall in love with vaping.

Awhuch, keep taking those steps!! Find a b/m store that has a huge selection of ejuice and try as many as you can until you find a flavor that you can't live without. It makes it easier to pass up the cigs when the vape tastes far better. I had trouble finding a juice I liked at first because I though of vaping as a way to quit, not as a new hobby. Or....take off in a full sprint from your house and make a mental note of how far you made it, then try as hard as you can to go just 3 days without a cig and sprint off again and make note of the difference. It may be small but you will go farther :)

Soemone already mentioned it, but don't forget to stay hydrated. Drink water is best as the vape takes the moister from your mouth. It will cause some discomfort. Hang in there and don't worry too mush about how much your vaping. The honeymoon will be over soon, and you will put it down when you feel fit. Vape on!
