Just started using the rebuildable portion of the tfv8 . Took about 5 tries to get the Wicking down , and using demon killer coils as the price for the quantity and variety is unreal. I may try building my own coils eventually just for fun but for now I love these. After discovering how great the flavor can be when it's done right I'm sold on rebuildable. Not to mention zero dry hits , seemingly better nic delivery and waaayyy cheaper than replacing coils. Oh and the clouds bruh, let's us never forget the clouds lol. I regret wasting so many years with boring old smokes when I could have been vaping on the ruleaux 2/3 with a tfv8 tank with dual tiger coils @ .25 ohm @120 watts chucking clouds of hellacious flavor fury all over the damn place. Kidding about the clouds I'm not an ... about it but if I'm alone the cLouds do fly my friends . Oh yes they do.

There are enuf different facets to vapeing to keep us entertained for a lifetime. I'm back to my RTAs and wrapping my own coils for now. Just got over my fascination with the iCare and rebuilding those tiny little factory coils. Just wasn't practical. Just had a couple Ego One Mega tanks with rebuildable coils gifted to me. I'm anxious to check them out. I see no end in sight for the time being. Someone just needs to come along and smack the FDA folks up side they head before it's too late!

I wrap my own coils and have been using RBAs for years, properly set up they provide the best obtainable flavor. I vape NETs exclusively, they're notoriously hard on wicks/coils. A very picky flavor chaser, I re-wick/dry-burn daily replacing the coils every few weeks. Even at this exceptionally high level of maintenance I spend less for two years worth of rebuilding supplies than many people pay for a single factory coil head. Last year I ran across a sale on Kanthal A-1, $10 for a 500' spool, I now have a lifetime's supply on hand. Same for the Japanese cotton I prefer, the two $6 bags I purchased three years ago will likely be the last I ever need to buy. So yes, in addition to the outstanding flavor they provide RBAs are extremely economical to use.

Welcome to the top of the Rabbit Hole!

Once I started building it was a major game changer, opened up an entire new world. Options, flavor and quality significantly jump. I slum it once in a blue moon and pop in a stock coil in the very few tanks that still take factory coils. I usually end up taking them out within a day or two and popping the RBA deck in. I won't buy any devices that I can't build on.
If you think it's great now watch some YouTubes on making Claptons, Fused Claptons are a game change in regards to flavor and they're easy to make.

Cheers

It's nice that the market is supplying a little of everthing nowadays. Need just a little bit more for us MTLers tho.
Squape and Kayfun for RTA's and Drippers like the Narda, Druid, etc are pretty hard to beat. If you want a Geni check out the Split Atty.

Top of the line MTL devices, they're certainly out there ;)

When i started i NEVER wanted to rebuild.

Then my SubTank Nano coils were hit and miss. Sometimes good. 70% awful

I watched Rip Trippers video showing how to rebuild the OCC heads abd it was so stupid simple. I started rebuilding tge flavor was bettee. The vape was FINALLY consistent. That was it and been building coils EVER since.

I even rebuilt my old Evod coil heads and used cotton wicks a few times.

Yep, I used to be perfectly happy vaping on my Tanks with factory coils. Well Government and the FDA changed all of that. They pushed me down the Rabbit Hole, I'm not only building my own coils, spinning my own Claptons but I also did my homework and got into Mech's. So they're now loosing lots of money from lost Sales Tax revenue.

What I found out though is I really, really enjoy it. Something about being able to directly enjoy the efforts of your labor, such sweet satisfaction ;)

When you're ready take a look at Grimm Green's YouTube on "Easy Claptons", shows how to easily make fused clapton wire. That was a real game changer for me and 99% all I vape with are SS Fused Claptons, even make all the way down to 34x2/40 for my Tootie Puffers, the flavor is excellent.

TY, I feel that I have little to gain by building my own coils since I vape unflavored @ low watts.?. I get a month from $2 naughty coils, so cost isn't a factor...

I'm using fused claptons right now in my tfv8 and loving it. I did not make them myself but I imagine I will go down that road soon enough. I love the tfv8 tank in general but I'm so glad they provide the build deck because the coils are so spotty they just make a guy mad. I was honestly getting frustrated and about to chuck the whole tank . Then I thought hmm they got like a huge pa k of demon killer coils at my local shop for 9 bucks and I'm sure I can watch a video on wicking. So glad I gave it a shot. An immediate improvement in flavor , vapor , aND all out no holds barred consistency. Can't say that for the t8 v8 or the q whatever it is. I mean those coils are good when they work but many don't work well. This way I get all out flavor and zero dry hits . Such a beautiful thing.

Coil inconsistency is what got me off my .... to rebuild.

I don't think i have seen anyone regret rebuilding after they were willing to try a few attempts at wicking.

One note about rebuilding for people who find it a bit tricky...it gets easier. Once you start settling on the same builds in certain tanks you'll get really fast at it and do it on minutes. You'll know the exact amount of cotton etc.
    Correct.

I know i want a .8 ohm coil in my Kayfun. I know with my 26 gauge Kanthal 8 wraps around a 2 mm Shaft gives me a .79-.84 ohm coil.

I can wrap the coil, trap and snip the leads and install the wick in 5-6 minutes
