The TPD has already been passed into UK law. Laws of course can be changed, but the fact is that the UK has not been through a review of it's laws for decades. That was the job of those in Brussels. I'm not saying it won't happen, it might, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Even so, the rest of Europe will be limited to making sealed <=2ml tanks and all the BS that comes with the TPD, so don't expect to be able to be able to get hold of the latest greatest Taifuns and Kayfuns. Sorry for Europe!

TLDR; too late!

As far as vaping goes I've read that the driving force behind the EU vaping laws was heavy manipulation behind the scenes by the Pharma industry, and that's not going to change as a result of Brexit.
Where have I heard that before....................oh, the FDA/CFTFK/BP

Congrats on the departure! May the People once again have a Voice in Government.

Vaping will have a safe home in Britain where opinion is in favor of ecigs more now than ever before. As long as there is NHS and the Govt. reduces the cost burden caused by smoking on that, I feel things going forward will be positive although tose pesky TPD regs. might need some tweaking (or ignoring).

At this point, I wish the TPD applied in the US. As bad as the TPD seems, it's way better than what's happening here. At least new mod models can be introduced, and I won't be surprised to discover those 2 ml tanks having "expansion kits" you'll be able to order online as now offered for the Nautilus X, unless customs there gets very aggressive at monitoring. After all, it's not a larger tank you're importing, just a glass tank and a tube that will lengthen the chimney. Maybe they can even be shipped separately. Tough to see some customs agent pawing through a box with a ruler before allowing a replacement glass to be delivered.

The Uk has gone for the most lenient reading of the TPD - that means that the 2ml limit only applies to prefilled tanks and cartridges, so larger tanks aren't affected providing that they're not prefilled, which they're not generally.

Was wondering what the Brits here think will happen now to the new vape strangling regulations, now that we have voted to leave the European Community?

Theoretically the EU laws mean nothing for us, once we have actually finally left, (at the moment we are still bound by them and will be for probably the next two years or so.) Do you think a future government will actually see some sense and stop harassing a large group of people that use Vaping to get them off the stinkies?

I realise that they are losing revenue from the tobacco companies right now, but the savings just to the NHS must surely make up for it?

Anyway...what do you think?

In my humble opinion people are being a little optimistic about what the government will do without EU legislation to hold them back. Before the TPD was a reality, the MHRA set out some seriously damaging legislation that the UK government was on the point of implementing. It was set aside once the TPD came in - but without it, I have no faith whatsoever that the government will opt for "light touch" regulation. Especially since the government is likely to be Tory, which means getting as much money out of the public as they possibly can. Tobacco taxation is king.
