Also remember this, any stats you find on a government funded study is going to show you exactly what the government wants you to see. Not what they may or may not have actually found, only what they want you to believe. In the US the FDA (Freaking Damn ........s) made the claim that E-Cigs have PG in them, the same substance used in making anti-freeze, a known carcinigine (excuse my spelling). The double talk, anti-freeze is a known carcinigine, not PG, and originally it was Eythenol Glycol that was used and the FDA pushed to have PG used because it was safer. Now they are trying to say thats whats wrong with them, the truth of the matter is simple, like everything else it all boils down to money, Big tobacco aint getting anything from this, people arnt getting sick so Big Pharm aint making nothing off of it either, and the main branch of the government is getting their higher tax dollars so their ...... too. and it doesnt matter who you vote into office because they are all the same, crooks, con men, scam artists. Lewis Black once said the only difference between a republican and a democrat is republicans suck where as democrats blow. As long as the people are not in power, we will always be slaves to the government, because power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. All governments, not just the one i am ruled by, but all of them need to be overthrown, cast out, kicked to the curb, sent to bed without any supper, and made to stand in the corner. In the US the government was suppose to be "of the people, by the people, for the people" We allowed them to have too much power, and now they own us, they can do what ever they want to whom ever they want, who you gonna complain to? The news? They are just puppets of the government. We are in a loosing battle, one that can not be won, if you try you are brushed aside like yesterdays garbage. Even the president can't do anything about it...e.g. JFK. Don't you think for one second that the government didn't have anything to do with that. This goes a lot deeper then our precious little e-cigs boys and girls, think of it this way, the government is the computer...the machines...and we are all living our life in it's idea of the matrix, only problem is...there is no neo to save us.

Now where did i put that other bottle of Jack...there it is! right next to the red pill.

Hi Bjorn,

1 - The legal limit to drive depends on the province but BC uses .08 (80mg/100ml) which is fairly common in western nations. If you drink, don't drive that night.

2 - A health unit is pushing to ban smoking in apartments that share the air. I don't see the government picking this one up and running with it, but we'll see.

3 - Nicotine juice cannot be imported or sold in Canada. The restriction apply ONLY to Canadian citizens. The hardware on the other hand, is fine even for Canadians. You can bring your gear and use it freely.

Have a nice time at Whistler.

Drinking and Driving is not illegal.. Yup read that one again...

Where? In most states in the US driving with an open intoxicant is illegal. I think Texas is one exception. Not sure about Canada.

Or do you mean drinking and then driving afterwards is legal as long you're under the legal limit?

Most US States are 0.08 also.

Illegal to import nic juice? Looks like I'll have to do some smuggling next time I cross the border.

Seems to be a grey area here. There have been some post where Americans living in Canada can get e-juice they are importing into Canada released because they are not covered by the law???

Who knows...

IF I were you crossing the border with your juice, I would describe it, if asked, as "aromatherapy oil". Not even lying with that one, depending on how you look at vapeing ;)

wait... e-cigarettes are ILLEGAL in Canada? How come I can buy from a Canadian Supplier? I just told my friend who is a cop about these things, she never even heard of them.

They're not illegal. HC put out a statement that juice containing nicotine cannot be imported or sold. I have no idea what enforcement they have but I've never heard of more than a letter.

Americans (and others) are exempt from this for personal use since the substance class applies to Canadians only. You will be required to submit proof of your citizenship to customs.

According to Health Canada, there are applications that can be made to allow the juice to be sold but I've never heard of anyone going through the process. I suspect it would be very expensive and time consuming.

The problem lies in the Food and Drug act where Nicotine is a regulated drug.
What we have is a law that was created before e-cigs were invented and was never intended for them. Prior to e-cigs if someone had large amounts of pure nicotine, they would have to be up to no good, so the law made sense then. Laws of this nature aren't usually aren't enforced by the local police, much the same as they wouldn't enforce the Food and Drug act by inspecting or laying charged for a food processing plant.

As for filling out the paperwork, that is pointless. That just addresses "medical devices" and won't change the law on nicotine. So without nicotine, an e-cig is not a medical device anyhow. Its futile.
