I minded, and was a non-smoker for 31 years. If I wasn't surrounded by smokers I would have never given the second thought to starting. Pretty much everyone did mind, we just didn't say that much about it. You're right, it did take some concept of non-smoker's rights to tip the scales, to say my rights trump theirs rather than just being equally matched. But resentment was always there.
pretty much no one minded nor cared out in public anyway.it was part of the culture. i am not saying there wasn't any resistance. i knew plenty of people that didn't allow it in there house's. it wasn't because they thought it would hurt them unless they had an allergy. it was because they didn't like or could not tolerate the smoke. that was cool. we all got along all by ourselves with out any help from the nanny state.
regards
mike

But how will we survive without the all knowing government telling us how to live? It's blasphemy to think we can survive without their guidance (note the oceanic levels of sarcasm)

Yeah... reformatted with a shovel! (I don't know what the code means.... but I'm on your side)
Lol it was supposed to be funny...the system being reformatted was basically saying taking our country back which they have put laws on the books that made that a coup d'état because they tried to overrule the founders saying it's our right to do so

We do not loose our freedom in one chunk/law, it happens in stages. I have said it before (and will again no doubt) that our freedoms are being taken away one by one in small stages.
I have used this before about gun control that has a direct link to vaping.
The government does not go after our guns.
They outlaw something like "you will not own a RPG" we think.. Who needs those, it doesn't affect me.
They outlaw Automatic Assault rifles. We think I can still hunt and do everything else, I don't (or few don't) own an automatic assault rifle, so it doesn't affect me.
They outlaw certain types of ammunition saying it kills cops (ummm all ammo can). I don't use that type of ammo so it doesn't affect me.
They outlaw large capacity clips. Well I can still use my smaller clips, so it has little affect on me
In the future...
They outlaw High Powered rifles unless you have a hunting licence. Well I don't hunt so it doesn't affect me.
They further outlaw high grade ammunition. I don't use that so it doesn't affect me.
The completely outlaw handguns for non governmental agencies. Well at least I have my rifle...
They outlaw all firearms

Again the lawmakers don't do anything in one chunk, they wear away our liberties in small sections like a river erodes its banks and if we notice, we don't fight it.

TLDL: Fight all changes because we will look back and say "Where did our freedoms go?"

There's a pretty strong case to be made for responsible gun legislation and control, as with most things. I'm not going to go full conspiracy theorist, but I don't personally own firearms and will not own them in the future. The quickest and easiest way to have a gun related injury is to own a gun. That's a personal choice though; I don't see a problem with other people owning them.

The problem with the current state of gun legislation is that they are trying to legislate safety and make criminals follow laws...you can't legislate safety like they are trying to do it just can't be done...and correct me if I'm wrong but aren't criminals classified as criminals because of a failure to follow said laws? What makes you think more laws will make them stop breaking them? Oh and the most effective way to die is have only the criminals possess guns...it takes a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun

I'm one of the guys that gets to enforce federal law. If there are severe penalties for owning a firearm because of the persons record or because it's a federally regulated weapon, you better believe that lots of people, even the criminals, pay close attention to that. I won't go much further into my opinion on gun policy, but I do know that the federal side is incredibly effective at deterring gun crime.

I was referring to the fact that if they want a gun they usually get one regardless of not being able to own one and the uselessness of the magazine capacity idea...if they are going to do something illegal that requires a gun why would they follow the law and use a smaller capacity magazine?

Because when you make a large capacity illegal, it doesn't necessarily make all of the old ones just disappear into thin air. It does make them more difficult to buy and create disincentives to do so. It doesn't prevent 100% of the criminals buying them, but it does prevent criminals from buying as many as they would with zero legislation. It has an effect, even if it's not perfect.

My issue with it is that it prevents the legal law abiding gun owners from having say 17 9 X 19mm rounds in a glock mag down to I think it is 7 in New York...what if those extra 10 rounds beans they live or die? That's why I have an issue with it...that and 30 round AR mags are not high capacity but standard capacity...just saying...anyway let's get back to vaping topics lol

Lol I see what you're saying. Now.... if they tell me I can only have 2ml capacity in my tanks, I'll revolt and build my own black market 2.01ml tank just to make a point.

Personally I'd make it like 10ml but the hell with it
My goal is to only have to refill once a day, max. I've got a 7ml tank now, and it's about perfect. I've cut down juice to 5ml or so a day now, just as long as I don't have a few drinks. If I drink, I might blow through 2 tanks in an evening lol.
