Debi, my goodness, you have been dealing with a great deal of loss. It doesn't matter how "prepared" we think we are for these things.... I hope you are able to feel some peace through all this, and your venting doesn't bother me a bit - I think we are honored that you feel comfortable here.

fun--- is having FUN! That sounds wonderful, sort of second honeymoon-ish. Lucky you!!!!

Went on a dinner cruise with my husband today! We're on vaca in Seabrook, Island - 7 days with no kids! Lots of vaping, kissing (yay he kisses me now!)

Happy sigh

Thanks guys. I don't think I'll be ranting today. I've hit the 'emotionally tired' and 'meh' phase today. Really, all I want to do is stay in bed and sleep it all off. But it would be too dangerous to leave the 4 yr old running around the house by himself. Once we know when/where the funeral will be and we have it, I will probably be a bit of a wreck that day and the day after the funeral. I'm a strange person and don't really go through all six phases, but closer to three. Anger (I hate you universe), Numbing acceptance (they are dead, I get it, lemme go back to bed), and sadness (why can't I stop crying now??).

Indeed. I still cry over my grandmother, great-grandmother and great-grandfather occasionally at the strangest moments. Usually listening to music, I was raised Southern Baptist and music was a very big deal in my family. My great-grandfather and great-grandmother was in a quartet that would travel to various churches in northern LA and Southern AR. My grandmother taught me how to play piano and to read the old-time shape-note hymnals. Certain songs just hit that chord and suddenly I'm turning into waterworks. My grandfather literally died of old age. They say he just fell asleep and his heart started going irregular and then his organs shut down and he was gone. Both my grandmother and great-grandmother died different ways due to complications from muscular dystrophy. My great-grandmother choked to death on her feeding tube and my grandmother had so much potassium built up in her that she died from potassium poisoning. Neither one of them showed any symptoms of MD until they hit their mid-forties, and I quit seeing a doctor a few years ago because I told him about it and he said I couldn't possibly get MD, it was a child's disease. :censored: idiot.

Ooops, I ranted a little bit. I guess there is some anger in there, just over other people! LOL

The more things change the more they seem to be staying the same. Accidents galore.

My youngest grandson fell and fractured his skull. He was in the hospital. Had some bleeding on his brain. They feel he will be ok but it will take a little while for the bleeding to absorb itself and the skull fracture to heal itself. This is the DD that was in the wreck. With the boot she could not get to him fast enough to catch him. They can climb so fast the minute your turn your head. He is 2 y/o.

The very same evening another grandson fractured his wrist in football practice at school.

All I seem to have lately is injury news to share. I'm ready to invest in large quantities of bubble wrap for these kids and grandkids.

Good news is...all will heal...and the additional grey hairs can be covered. ;)
