Well, my new year's eve started out well and went rapidly downhill.

He was my midnight kiss, but then he ended up going home with the girl I came with, the girl I was confiding in about my crush on him...and I spent the night crying to the rest of his band and their girlfriends.

He called me this morning to apologize and he came over and we talked. He apologized for leading me on and for making this stupid decision and that he likes me a lot as a friend and he might like me as more than a friend but we are in different places right now and it wouldn't be right. He kept saying how bad he felt that he hurt me, and the fact that he cared enough to do that did mean a lot to me.

I haven't heard anything from the girl who I thought was my friend.

I really wanted to crack and smoke a cigarette, but I didn't. I thought about my roommate who has recently started AA, and I stayed strong.

Good evening ladies and here's to the New Year! I brought in the new year with some good friends at one of my favorite places and had a great time. Fixed big breakfast about 1:00 this aftrnoon for my daughter and me, got on my couch about 3:00 meaning to take a cat nap and ended up sleeping until 5:30. Had time to fix my blackeyed peas and ate them until I couldn't eat no more!! My eyes still feel like they have sand in them and my eyeballs get exfoliated every time I blink!! lol I'm getting to old for this

Unlike groupie I ended up smoking 4 cigs last night. On the upside I gave the rest of the pack to my friend at the end of the night. It actually just felt really weird doing it LOL.

WAY TO GO GROUPIE for not smoking!!! Sorry about your crush. Bless your heart, he sounds like a bit of a jerk so maybe you are better off without him.

eeewww....yuck...blackeyed peas needs to be added to the forum censors !!!

Dang groupie...if you were close, I'd give ya an old fashioned hug. That just stinks. Good that he was man enough to talk with you...ok, fine, write that one off...but your "friend" ?? That's just cold.

...sad...very sad.

Ok I had to read back a bit to get to Groupie's story but just have to say I have been there, it does totally blow, and you do need to write off the "girlfriend" before she does it again. I forgave my girl friend and was sorry again a couple years later :(

On another note - I never heard of the black eyed peas thing before but that does explain a couple of New Year's get-togethers I've attended - lol

No mailman to stalk today - heavy sigh.

Kids are playing in the 1 1/2 inches of snow - we're pretending it was a "snowday" from school - Back to the books tomorrow! :)

EmmaJo, I heard that it's blackeyed peas and greens......representing good fortune, as in money - with the greens being paper bills and the peas being coins. Is that true?

stupidgroupie, in spite of his reprehensible behavior, this guy did you a favor by allowing your "friend"'s immaturity and lack of trustworthiness surface. Now you know and now you can stop wasting your energy on her.

My New Year's Eve ended up totally different than I thought. We did not go to the party I wanted to skip. We went out to dinner with friends and then had people over to our house. It just sort of grew.....fortunately I had the bar stocked and some decent things for other people to eat. It turned out to be a nice time. I did absolutely nothing the next day but eat and nap....
