OMG That "People of Wal-Mart" site is HILARIOUS!

It's a good thing they don't have a "People at the Exxon Station" - when I smoked (wow it's still so weird to say that!) I would go to the gas station at midnight in my flannel PJ pants, sweat shirt... or what ever. I never considered it but they probably review the security camera tapes every so often and laugh their butts off at the wackadoodles that come in at all hours of the night!

Ha! I do recall those days at the various 7-11's I've lived near. I began to get horrified when I realized I had gotten on a first name basis with the late night clerks and they all knew my brand! Heh!

ROFL Metsoo - The guy at the gas station would see me walk in and have my brand sitting on the counter - 3 packs... I'd buy 3 packs at a time... refusing to spend the money on a carton. How that made any sense is beyond me.

I wouldn't buy cartons unless I was in Florida! Cigs were always so much cheaper down there.

If I drove down instead of flying to Florida, JR's in North Carolina was my favorite stop. I'd buy a bunch of cartons and stock my freezer with them. Oh, and Cow Tails... I had to have my Cow Tails  It's hard to find Cow Tails up here!

Oh... the justifications and rationalizations I did - that weren't logical or rational at all

LOL! I'd only buy 2 packs at a time! My reasoning was that I had just enough but that I would be too complacent with a carton and had to suffer trips to Walmart several times a week as punishment for smoking! Heh! I figure I'll be saving additional money now because, ya know, you cant JUST buy cigs in Walmart... you have to get other stuff and can't leave without spending at least $30... usually more like $60.

The only nearby place I can get my groceries is Walmart. In Kentucky.
On a regular basis I see scary big guys in head to toe hunting gear and smelling of eeeewww de doe- amoung other "wonders" It shocks me too. I get embaressed just going to the bus stop in the mornings with the younger daughter underdressed (Jim jams and a big coat.)

When I was a teen..going out of doors with hair rollers was a big no no..unless you had a scarf big enough to hide all the rollers. My mother would have died before going out without her lipstick on! If I dared step a toe outside with P.J.'s on Mom and dad would have made my in door time miserable.
Some how the 60's made anything goes dressing o.k. By the 70's and 80's bras and garters on the outside..was ok Per Madonna. Acording to my mom..it was streetwalkers garb! Dad was still stuck in the 50's still complaining about Elvis!
My Mom and Dad were the norm..not at all prudish for the time. Mom was a model in her youth and a fainting fan of Frank Sinatra and the big bands.

Yea, just amazing. I'm at a total loss for words. The Wal-Marts in New Mexico don't look half as bad now.

What really gets my goat is how many people take their kids with hardly any clothes on, NO shoes, at MIDNIGHT to Wal-Mart. Mind you, I'm not a mother yet, but I really wouldn't think it's wise to leave your already hyeractive sleep deprived. And my mother always made me wear flip flops everywhere like public showers and pools. It sounds bad, but Wal-Mart, here in NM anyways, always seems to attracts the lowest of society. But, you can't beat their prices!

OMG I'm so excited. The hubs is going out today (it's day in Korea) To see if he can get ahold of tickets for his mid tour visit home.

That's awesome! I really don't know how the spouses of people in jobs that take them away from home (esp in the service on tours/floats) can handle it. I don't like being away from hubby for more than a couple of days.

WoW! LOL PajamaJeans? OK - I would still have to make the effort to actually buy them, and then pluck them from my laundry basket or drawer to put them on....

I am not seeing the point here... maybe I am missing something? When I want to dress in my full "bag-lady" attire, I'm loud and proud - I'm not disguising my laziness!

I proudly run to the convenience store (ok, not so much since I quit smoking, but still...) wearing my plaid flannel pants tucked into my ugg-ish boots, a giant hoodie (that clearly doesn't match the any color in the flannel plaid), with my hair in a messy pony tail.

Hiding my inner "bag-lady" would take planning and defeat the whole point!

My dad is a orangey redhead, his skin is sorta perma burnt from years of hard work, his favorite shirt is a white and BRIGHT orange stripe (like safty cone color) my mom hates it because it not only clashes with his coloring he wore one to rags then begged her to make another. She did- the womans a saint.

AND! Hubs is coming home WEDNESDAY night. The house is spick and span- needed something to do with my nerves after all. No need for a mani/pedi (I'm just not that type of gal) BUT I'm considering and reconsidering refreshing my hair color. It's still great (no roots, no fade) but generally I stick pretty close to my "born with" coloring and this is a bit of a departure for me. Just love the vibrant RED red.
