after having my wisdom teeth taken out, i discovered that i was intolerant to the codeine they prescribed me. That was...unpleasant. But i'm sure she'll be fine and recover in no time.

I got my combat boots yesterday, trying to break them in. I need to buy some moleskin, i am getting blisters all over the place. Ouch ouch ouch.

Hey!
You do not have to suffer with pain from shoes if they are made of leather.
This only works on leather, but it works!
Take a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol, go to the tight spot on the shoe or boot, and get the leather wet with it, inside and out.
Don't worry, it won't change the leather color or ruin it in any way!
Wear until dry.
It will stretch the leather.

Good morning! Hope everyone is getting past any illness.

The garage has been repaired. I confess I was quite a witch about it. Started when DH said he would get to it "next week." Just DH? Next week? Now is better. The two of them. So, our very nice neighbor went with DH and picked up the supplies and together they fixed it. Took 4 hours and both had sore muscles the next day. It was not a one-person job which I pointed out to DH. I also confess my husband is too nice for our good. lol The stories I could tell!

Well, imagine if it had been an insurance claim. You'd be waiting much longer!

I'm having a day of links, good and strange!

First, I started a group for Generation Y (those born after 1975.) There is a link in my signature if you wish to join!

Secondly, I was checking google analytics for my personal blog (which is also linked to in my signature) and I saw referrals coming from a blog I had never seen before. It turns out that, in October, someone was reading my phone over my shoulder on the train and saw me trying to reach my blog.

How weird is that?

what?!.. the person in the blog who is reading other people's phones saw you and went home and found your blog? creepy.

the new social group is great! congratulations. (if you really have to be born after 1975 I'm really, really far from eligible  )

Aww thanks about the social group! I'm really excited! I'm thinking about making a post in the New Members Forum but I need to check the advertising guidelines of the ECF.

And yeah, that is EXACTLY what happened. She sat next to me on the train, saw me looking at my phone, and then broadcast that information on HER blog, linking to mine without so much as dropping me an email. And yes, I have an email posted on my blog, not to mention the myriad of other ways she could have given me a heads up. I'm a little creeped, honestly.

Sounds like you need to get a privacy screen protector.

I had one, but it got scratched and in trying to clean it I rubbed some of the sticky stuff off and it never stuck properly after that. So I gave up.

I will admit, I'm oddly fascinated by it. I mean, as she stated in the entry, I never actually made it to my blog. I just typed in the address and repeatedly tried to reach the page while my browser continually failed me. That girl remembered the web address I had typed and looked me up later. Then she read at least a few entries to garner an impression. Then she cared enough to write about doing so. Finally, she took enough time to link back to my blog in her entry, rather than just saying "some girl" or something like that. That takes some dedication to a stranger on a train. Goodness.

It's almost like being famous. In that "having your sense of privacy invaded" sort of way.

We won't get enough to replace the car, but we will have to decide if we want to add the trade in of my suv (2003 with very low milage.) to it and get another car to replace both. Or we could just keep mine and instead get a backyard storage shed and get rid of the storage unit we are renting. That is what we will most likely do. Just wait for his disabilty settlement to do the new ..or newish car. (still waiting to hear about that.)

OMG! MK- I'm glad you weren't hurt as badly as the truck was. ouch.

Ok, Groupie, i gotta admit it would be hard to send an email saying, "hey i was looking over your shoulder on the train..." but the creep factor is only slightly mitigated by the fact that it was a woman, and the cross linking with your blog so at least you found out about it.
