Saturday morning!! Love it! Didn't sleep in though because one of my dogs woke me up early wanting to go outside. That is unusual for her. She must have had an upset tummy because when we went outside she ran right for some grass. She seems fine now...go figure.

I have a whole day ahead of me and can't decide what to do. I would love to just read my book all day but would feel really guilty if I did.

Well, I went to bed early, hubby let me sleep in, and I feel like a ship wreck. Stuffy sinuses, sore muscles. But TKD sparring is fun
Now kids and hubby went off for the day, and I have free time to do whatever I want. Hot tea with honey next to me.

And today I stepped on the scale for the first time in months. Some how I lost about 15 lbs since the last time I ventured on the damn thing. Dont know how that happened. But it needs to keep happening...I have a LONG way to go to get fit. Kids need a healthy mom.

ok...young folk....read and weep....because every word is true Checking out at the grocery store recently, the young cashier suggested I should bring my own grocery bags because plastic bags weren't good for the environment. I apologized and explained, "We didn't have this green thing back in my earlier days." The clerk responded, "That's our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations." She was right about one thing -- our generation didn't have the green thing in “Our” day. So what did we have back then…? After some reflection and soul-searching on "Our" day here's what I remembered we did have.... Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles repeatedly. So they really were recycled. But we didn't have the green thing back in our day. We walked up stairs, because we didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks. But she was right. We didn't have the green thing in our day. Back then, we washed the baby's diapers because we didn't have the throw-away kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy gobbling machine burning up 220 volts -- wind and solar power really did dry our clothes back in our early days. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing. But that young lady is right. We didn't have the green thing back in our day. Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house -- not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana. In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn't have electric machines to do everything for us. When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used wadded up old newspapers to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap. Back then, we didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn't need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity. But she's right. We didn't have the green thing back then. We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull. But we didn't have the green thing back then. Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus, and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service. We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 2,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest pizza joint. But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn't have the green thing back then? Please post this on your Facebook profile so another selfish old person who needs a lesson in conservation from a smarty-pants young person can add to this....!!!!!

Ladies, I need some advice and I don't know where else to post. It doesn't really qualify as "chat" (and mods please advise if this is inappropriate or the wrong place) but I thought I could get some input here on how to proceed:

There is (or was, I'm not sure) a juice vendor whose thread in the E-Cigarette Suppliers Forum is now closed by the vendor's choice, I believe, in September. She has no web site, but did a have a non-functioning one that was under construction for a while. I had ordered from her many times and paid through PayPal with no problem, as had many others. Her juices are quite good. I received a mass e-mail from her earlier in December wishing her customers happy holidays and with an updated list of her flavors. I ordered on Monday, December 12 and my PayPal payment to her was processed that day.

On Wednesday, December14, she e-mailed me saying that she had come down with something over the weekend and wouldn't be mixing until Friday because she didn't want to make anyone sick. I said no problem, just whenever she felt better. I never received my order.

This past Monday I e-mailed her to let her know this and that I understood if it was overlooked due to the holidays. No reply. I e-mailed her yesterday again.....no reply. I PMed her to no avail - doesn't look like she's been active here on ECF lately. I did find mention of her in another sub-forum here; the poster had received the same "happy holidays" e-mail about a week before me.......

I have 45 days from December 12 to file a dispute with PayPal. My gut feeling is that I've been had. However, I don't want to be harsh, either. Is it premature to be posting under "Supplier Feedback - Negative" when there's an outside chance that this may be a misunderstanding? On the other hand I don't like being taken advantage of and I want to warn other people, too. Should I give her any more time before I complain to PayPal?

Again, not exactly fun chat but I didn't want to blurt it all out or fish for info elsewhere here on ECF.

Send her an email tonight that you plan to dispute payment and leave negative feedback if your email is not answered within 24hrs.That gives her a chance to fix it and you know that you told her what you were going to do.Then you wont feel bad about it.

I agree with Kezy. Give her one more chance to respond with a firm time limit, and then take action if you don't get a response.

Update on vendor issue....... I sent an ultimatum e-mail to the vendor last night. Plus, I found a really old PayPal receipt and noticed a different e-mail address that apparently she uses as a personal address - because she responded when I forwarded my other e-mails to her there. She replied with apologies, saying a very close family member had died on new years eve and that she had been caught up with that. Keep in mind that when her thread was open, she would make posts delaying shipment due to illness (a lot), final exams, etc., but the stuff did eventually get delivered.

I gave my condolences and apologized for being "direct" but explained that I didn't have much of a choice, given the circumstances. I still have time to complain to PayPal and post negative feedback if I don't see the stuff delivered to me shortly.

I dont know if hers is legit, but I can tell you this:
A week before christmas, our grandmother passed away. Then came the holidays, and this week EVERYONE in my house is sick. I found one package in my car that needed to be mailed, and got it out Thursday. Today I sent 2 e-mails asking if I had missed anyone, and I did. So now I am making good.
I can certainly see where this can happen. I feel like a walking Zombie right now, but I do have obligations to keep...

Hope everything works out, and if you like her stuff, you just have to put up with someone who has a busy life making time to get what she offers out. At least you know what she is like. At least its not a new company taking advantage of people.

I say have patience and order more than you need, for those times when you might get another delay

I have owned my own businesses before and I always honored my commitments.If there was ever a problem I was sure to have extemely open comunications with my customers. They knew exactly what was happening.You cant accept peoples money and then ignore them.It isnt acceptable at all ever.It only takes a minute to post an update.Most people are very understanding if they know whats going on.Thats just my opinion though.
