Good morning ladies. Happy Caturday!
I think I missed yesterday. I got up, worked for a couple of hours, stopped to take a shower, and when I went back to my computer it had shut itself off again. The rest of the day was crazy, switching back to the turtle computer, researching overheating, researching new computers just in case. Today it's fine. I really thought it was the games I play that was making it overheat, but I've been playing all morning and no issues yet. I downloaded a utility called CoreTemp that tells you what your cores temps are and what the limit is for your particular processor, and the icon stays on the task bar, green if the temps are OK and yellow when they start getting too warm. It's occasionally hitting yellow, but goes right back to green. Yesterday it was yellow all the time. Now I'm wondering if it's the software I use for work that's making it overheat. I'm almost tempted to work just to find out. Almost, but not quite, LOL
Right now I'm leaning toward Dell if I need a new one. Has anyone here ever had a bad Dell? All our desktops have been Dell except our very first which was a Gateway and that one had issues. The Dell desktops have been workhorses. But I've never had a Dell laptop. My husband's work laptops have all been Dells and the only issues he has it that they're slow, but that's because the company is too cheap to buy decent models. And our local computer shop sells Dells, so hopefully I can get a good deal there.
