almost as excited as you must be JJ- aren't you getting together with some ECF friends this weekend too?

Happy early anniversary Catmom :)

Well congrats on two accounts!!!

It's our wedding anniversary. I guess cause it falls on a Monday DH decided to take it off. And if I didn't take it off, it would kind of be a waste, LOL

I'm driving to Glam's Sunday morning. Then she is driving the two of us to Lisa's, and then the three of us go to meet Tink.

And yes I'm very excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally went to the doctor for this annoying cold I've had for 10 days. Turns out when you have asthma, a cold can be quite serious, LOL. Three prescriptions later, hopefully I'll feel well enough by Monday to enjoy our anniversary!

I didn't know, or didn't remember you had asthma. Son had it when he was younger. It seems to have gone away now but I imagine it will return when he gets older.

And yes a cold is serious. Hope you feel better soon!

And good morning ladies.:)

I don't think I've ever mentioned it here before. It's usually inconsequential. I use Advair twice a day and usually never need my "rescue inhaler" since I started on Advair. But this cold/bronchitis kicked my ....! And silly me, I didn't really even think of the asthma part of it. I knew I was wheezing a little and was using my rescue inhaler, but the cough was my main problem. Turns out the cough was actually more asthma. Wheezing I'm used to, but she heard crackles too. I must sound like a breakfast cereal  But predisone is a wonder drug of sorts. My coughing is dramatically improved already (some nights I couldn't inhale without having to cough) and except for being extremely tired (still had to sleep sitting up last night, and woke up at 3 and that was the end of sleep for me) I'm feel a whole lot better!

Our son had asthma too when he was little, and pretty much outgrew it when he was 13, which is quite common. He still wheezes if he gets a bad cold though. And he smokes <sigh>. Growing up with 2 parents who smoked, I guess that's not a surprise. Can't help but feel guilty about that.

Do not feel guilty- my sons grew up with smokers yet chose not to.

Thanks, but he started smoking to get even with us. We had quit (Dh for the first time, me for at least the 4th time) then we started again. DS was ...... at us and started to smoke. He was 17, I think, those rebellious teenaged years. Oh, if I could redo those years!

Oh gosh, no, our son was never on it for more than 10 days. I'm on a 6-day taper now. I took 6 pills yesterday, 5 today, 4 tomorrow, etc. But I do remember two positive effects of prednisone when our son was on it. First, it cleared up his asthma! Second, it turned our normally picky eater into a human garbage disposal ;)
