I was in a smoking bar this evening and was told that my e cigarette was extremely offensive and was asked to leave. I did, however I think it was a bit ridiculous that I was in a smoking bar and was asked to leave for "smoking" my e-cigarette... I did leave with no issue bit was a bit offended. Anyone else ever come across this? I have asked bartenders I know and all of them prefer you smoke ecigs over real ones...

Ignorance breeds fear and rude behavior. Just don't patronize that bar again. Tell your friends....And..well..we dont have bars you can smoke in but if we did, I would vape in them. If they asked me to stop...I'd ask why...I'd give a 2 minute about what it is..if that didn't work I'd leave never to grace the door again.Do I expect bad reactions? Well, considering some of the crap thats been in the media and the fact that people practically worship the media and believe anything they say...I do.

I was using a Tesla VV/VW with Mount Baker Vapor strawberry Shortcake. Nothing crazy at all.... I know the Tesla looks scandalous, but it was all on the up and up....

The Tesla looks scandalous?? Oh; well obviously that's what the problem was; why didn't you mention it in the first place.

Obviously if some guy in a pink suit and silk scarf goes into a bar where people are smoking and pulls out a big dildo and starts sucking on it, somebody might get annoyed and nothing to do with whether you're vaping or not.

Strawberry Shortcake flavor in a smoking bar...I can see how one could be offended if you were blowing clouds there. Just as I could see how people in a vaping lounge would be offended by someone puffing a cigar. If you were just vaping normally, no big clouds, and something that couldn't be smelled in the cigarette haze, then I doubt there would have been a problem.

Before quitting, I used to visit some of the smoking bars around me...and those that went there wouldn't have liked the smell of your vapor. Now, when I visit the one near my house, I vape tobacco flavored. No need to draw attention to myself when out in public.

They probably felt the threat of your plumes of awesome clouds inciting members to switch, leaving them with two no levers to tend to every night..
Sven:Lonnie,Remember when this place used to really bring'em in back in the day?
Lonnie:Sure do Sven,it would be nice to go back to those days all over again..

Guy behind the bar: Dudes,it's only been a month, they'll be back.

Going into a bar waving around some shaped object can certainly make people nervous.

Just adds more fuel to the antivapers.

it sucks that happened to ya but i can kinda see how they could be offended. let's face it, smokers are a dying breed, and the growing number vapists are a constant reminder to them of that.

I totally agree, I didn't ask, honestly, I I was so taken back, that I just got up and left. However I did post the name of the bar on my Facebook, asking my friends not to patronize and also tagged several bartenders that I am friend with that would rather be around vapor than smoke so they realize what happened. Thanks!

I am surprised that they just flat out asked you to leave. That leads me to believe that they really did think that it was something else.
I really do think that it would have been better to explain in a calm way while putting it away and offering to not use it.

About the "smell" if it is a smoking bar do they also permit cigars?

That might be jumping the gun. I'd get in touch with the management of said establishment to confirm their stance on vaping in the bar. Maybe you just got a bartender who.was in a bad mood and not actually the places policy.

This gives you the opportunity to confirm or deny the policy as well as potentially educate, and we all need to be doing a lot more of that. If it turns out they really don't allow it then eff 'em, boycott, tell your friends, sure, but don't do so without verifying all the details.
