looks like they f***ed up the Cricket
Never was a fan of the Cricket, seems like a hand warmer for a cold winter day to me. But can definitely see the attraction of it and understand its popularity. The v2 looks like it can switch between parallel and series mode. Which is cool on paper, but they have over complicated the design in my opinion with chipset safety features, LEDs and a voltage regulator.
The device has a more rounded off all round smoother look than the original. The mechanical push switch has been replaced with a button and the straight to battery 510 with a 510 Spring connector.
If the original cricket was cool, it was because it was a simple mech design of average construction at an excellent price making it an innovative product and filling a market gap.
Size wise v2 is slightly larger than the original, in both width and length.
The device appears to try and offer the same innovation as the first did, but this time as an unregulated mod rather than remaining a fully qualified mech mod.
There is nothing innovative or exciting about this new device, do we really need another cheaply constructed unregulated mod on the market. The regulated market is already saturated with throw away devices.
