I am very new to this wonderful world of vaping, I have only been vaping for 12 days. 12 days ago I had my LAST stank stick and I love it. My wife, who hasn't smoked analogs at all in the past 4 or 5 years wants me to get her some zero nic flavors. She is not concerned with the amount of vapor, but is interested because of all of the flavors that are available. I haven't done any research on "safety" of vaping because I know it has to be way healther than the 4000+ chemicals in an analog. My question is which base would be the "safest" for her to vape? PG or VG? Or does it not really matter. Thanks in advance. Happy vaping. :vapor:

She'll probably want to get a mix of pg and vg. There may be a problem, such as clankfu has pointed out, but the allergic reactions are really not very common at all. I would talk to someone at a brick and mortar and see what they suggest.

I know that not everyone has a nearby store to contact... But you can call almost any on line store and they will be happy to help in any way possible.

I can't recommend a nonsmoker to start vaping.

I was thinking the exact same thing. She will use it very rarely, laying around watching tv etc. She will haver no interest in ever leaving the house with it. More of a something to do kinda thing. Me on the other hand, I was a pack and a half a day smoker. I wont leave the house without mine.

I'd rather see a non start vaping 0 Nic than pick up a cigarette.

I think it's inevitable that non-smoking friends are going to become interested. As passionate as many vapers can often be (with good reason) and the way some of this stuff tastes, it's just gonna happen. Luckily there's 0 Nic available for them.

It's true that most of us did start vaping to get off the analogs, but there are other things to consider.

Read the posts made by the OP. The friend is expressing the same curiosities and desire for 'something to do' that starts a lot of people smoking.

Would I try to 'sell' a non-smoker on vaping? No.
Would I discourage someone who was at a point where they appear to be very susceptible to picking up a habit? Nope.

Sounds like the wife used to be a smoker, 4 or 5 years ago. I was a non-smoker for 5 years after a 20 year habit and started back to analogs before I found vaping. I'm Not saying the wife would go the analog route if her husband wasn't vaping, but if she does start vaping there is probably little chance she would go back to analogs like I did. In this case I see nothing wrong with her vaping 0 nic if she wants, as long as she understands it may not be a 100% safe.

I said that for cigarettes once.. 15 years ago! I didn't stick to it :(

I've been reading up on PG vs VG in the very few medical articles I've found and they are both equally safe (or unsafe) with some people having minor allergic reactions to one or the other, rarely both. Easiest way is to give it a try and look out for reactions...

As people have said, what she wants to do is her own business.. she can take up vaping, smoking, drinking or all at the same time if she so chooses, but my personal recommendation would be to go for some hard candy instead! Just as many flavors and they have been tested much more thoroughly.

Haha, I get you there! Been vaping about eight months, and I could not even imagine leaving the house without one of my pv's! Hell I rarely even put it in my pocket! It really seems as if it's actually in my hand all day. It is definately like an adult pacifier for me lol! It's the first thing i pick up when my eyes open in the morning sun, and half the time, I vape right in bed, til I fall asleep at night. I'm always waking up with my Tekk mod, poking me in the side. Just figured I'd comment on the post of a fellow buffalonian! Your the first I have come accross, in any of the forums so far! Did you know that JuicyVapor, just opened a brick n mortar up on niagara falls blvd. ? Prolly gonna check it out, later this week.

My wife is in a somewhat-similar situation. When we first met over a decade ago, she smoked occasionally when out with friends. She is one of the lucky ones that was able to just "stop" smoking, mostly because of migraines. Has no desire for regular cigs at all.

However, when I started vaping in Feb 2011, she tried out a few of my initial non-tobacco flavors and kinda liked them. The nicotine in my first batches was a total turn-off for her taste and sensation wise.

Now that I've gotten down to zero myself, she occasionally puffs on my old KR808 that I no longer use with some fruity flavors. She goes days at a time between encounters, but does enjoy the flavors (so far I've been able to mix her up some fruit+70/30 pg/vg).

I was concerned at first myself, but now over 6 months in, she is doing just fine. I personally think your wife will be just fine with vaping zero nic from time to time.

on a sidenote: it has helped with chocolate cravings, which is a soft spot for her! :)
