Speaking for myself only of course, it tastes good, I enjoy the process and vaping an entire stardust type clearomizer only has about 7 calories. I could have a cup of coffee instead, and sometimes I do. But realistically speaking, how much harm is the vaping doing? Ignore the POTENTIAL harm (leads to smoking, leads to joints, leads to crack). If I occasionally enjoy a 0 nic vape, is the danger significantly different than having a cup of coffee, an occasional beer or snickers bar?

There's quite a bit of unknowns and some known hazards to even vaping 0 nicotine. All the flavorings used are approved as food flavorings, but NONE of them have been tested on their effect on the lungs. That being said for the most part some fairly respectable people in the scientific and medical community have said for the most part there shouldn't be much of a hazard with many of the flavorings. But there are also components to flavorings which are extremely hazardous and are likely ingredients in many of the liquids out there. One of the better known examples is Diacetyl which causes permanent necrosis of lung tissue. In other words every time you inhale it it causes irreversible damage to your lungs. It's probably the best known example, and many vendors advertise they are not using it. However the substitute for diacetyl has been found to have trace amounts of diacetyl present. The most recent episode of VPLive had a discussion on this very issue if you'd like to learn more about it.

There is progress being made. Flavourart, who makes flavorings and has really embraced and geared towards vaping has actually started doing studies of the effects of their flavorings. This industry is in its infancy, and history has taught us time and time again we may very well see health effects related to vaping.

Keep in mind in the history of the human race, the Romans used to drink their water in lead cups that came through lead pipes, and even put lead in their wine. When X-Rays first came into use they were used for everything, even at shoe stores. Doctors used to tell people to smoke cigarettes. I could go on .... We humans have a long history of getting it wrong before we get it right.

For the non-smokers wanting to vape I would probably suggest against it. I understand that 0% nic juices are out there and you can say there are no more dangerous than drinking a bottle of coca-cola but as a ex-smoker of 14 years I see no advantages to start anything like this.

I have attempted to quit smoking multiple times in my life and have always fallen of the wagon just to go back to the cancer sticks. I discovered e-cigs and figured what is the worst that can come of this. With out getting into too much physiology and psychology, people develop a chemical response in the brain to the habits associated with smoking; nicotine, motion, and other mental habits. These are all fed by the e-cigs/PV now but no longer include the tar and 100's of other additives that are found in analogs. I think this is a good way to go for anyone hoping to maybe one day be done altogether but still needs thats easement period. Are there any advantages to vaping as a non-smoker? Probably not.

As a libertarian, I'd say go for it - it's your body, your choice. Read up everything you can or want to, and then decide one way or another. Here in the UK thousands upon thousands of 18-35s are using zero nic e-shish sticks and enjoying them a lot. I don't see a problem, and those that do, I'd suggest, quite probably are too much indoctrinated by the anti-smoking lobby.

I fully agree with hankhill. This is possible. Only you would be able to know if you would take too much of an interest in it. I have been a smoker for many more years than I would've liked. For me, e-cigs are a blessing. I would say trying an e-cig would be a better alternative than picking up an analogue cig any day of the week and twice today!! You do you. The flavors are great, only you would know if you would become hooked or not.

I would say dont start any additive habits which can be expensive and potentially dangerous.I tell you one thing,if you start vaping you will be hooked, but you do raise a very controversial topic. If you want to drain your bank account of at LEAST $30/month and you will likley spend more than that ,go ahead, its your life and your money, nobody can tell you dont do it ,cause you have your own free will.
