Well, as you can see by my sig, I've been vaping (and a V4L customer) for coming up on 3 months. And I've been using and abusing all the stuff I've bought.
I have a ton of over-abused cartomizers that are dead, but that's to be expected.
Between the wife and I and I'll speak also for the friends we see often who also vape) I've had a bad experience with the original. shortie batteries, which was replaced twice over, so more than happy there, and.. um.. everything else still works fine.
I've dropped most of my batteries a few times, and at 6"3 dropping onto concrete is a decent fall, and been lucky I believe in that they all still worked afterwards - no problems there. I'm waiting for my

T to break, it gets dropped about a dozen times a day off my desk, and has been stepped on a few times, and attacked by cats, but it's still managing to go strong.
Now, my green auto I managed to screw an over-refilled carto onto and leaked some juice into the battery, so now it sometimes sticks on, I need to blow a puff into it to reset it. My fault, and I could probably clean it easily, but I take long drags anyway, so haven't tried to clean it yet.
My main battery - the extra long manual, well, it's on it's last legs I fear, after an hour or so it needs a recharge, which is why I have a new one in the order that arrived today, but I've been chain on it vaping a lot

everything else has been fine, the original shorties aside, it's all good.
But I'd try to be sure you have 2 good batteries, and 2 rechargers - i have a wall and a usb, and you should be fine (thats what comes in the big kits anyway, so if you got one of those (I forget) then you should be set on that front for at least 3 months on the batteries, assuming you don't throw one in the wash or whatever. Even with my good life on the Passthroughs, it's my favourite vape, so I'd recommend a backup for that if you are by a computer for a large chunk of your average day - hell if you aren't I'd recommend getting a wall converter to usb and using a PT anyway wherever you are - they perform the best, and will last you longer than 3 months

If I could I think I'd have a PT at home, one at work, one in the car, and, one in the conference room here so I'd never be away from one

I'd still have a batt or 2 tho as backup.
Anyhows, that's my take.
