I've been happily vaping for about a month now, but I'm looking to the future. I've about burned my eyeballs out reading the many amount of threads in the forum & watched a metric crap-ton of videos.

To get started, I bought a Mega eGo-W kit: It came with 2 of everything - 1000mah batts, clearomizers, protective shells, tips, and pen caps; plus a USB & A/C-USB charger & 10 ml of juice. I quickly ordered 5 spare clearomizers & more juice.

Now the questions... What voltage is this kit and what amps are the clearomizers? I know the batts aren't going to last forever, so what Voltage mod should I be looking for? 3.7V or 5V? I've seen inexpensive box mods that look like they'll suit me & the GLV-2 Mini looks nice as well. Yeah, they're on opposite ends of the price spectrum, but I want something reasonably 'small'. I know I'll need a 510-to-eGo adapter to keep using the clearomizers (they suit my daily vaping needs). But I may want to try using some of the other 510 attys/cartos later.

So... any info/advice will be greatly appreciated!

I started with an ego . I then burned my eyes out reading like you mentioned. Then I started using 3.7 mods. Then you use 6.0volt mods .Then its on to VV mods . What I wish someone had told me when I started: get a Silver Bullet from Alt you will never regret it. There is one on the classys as we speak that is dirt cheap. That and the Bombshell is very good start point for a beginning vaper. Plus it teaches you how to pick and use your cartomisers wisely. 3.7 is what you want right now. But beware ,your juice consumption will increase.

the silver bullet and omega are both great mods.

I wouldn't go nuts on buying 200-300 dollar variable voltage stuff yet. Grab a couple boge 2.0 cartomizers and/or a LR atty and try that on a cheaper mod before you start investing serious dollars into high range stuff. Honestly, some people just dont like it and tend to stick around 3.7 volts with higher ohm carto's and atty's.

I think madvapes sells a dirt cheap vv box mod that some people swear by. It would give you a good idea what range you like to vape in. IMO, 6 volts is usually a bit much. I tend to stay around 4.5-5 volts on a 2.7ish ohm carto. Everything is subjective.

I still use my Kgo with a LR carto, almost daily.

EDIT: The best way to check the ohms on your carto's is with a multimeter that can read direct current (dc). Sorry, I know you wanted a specific answer - But, the truth is, not all carto's are the exact ohm they are specified from some vendors. I've bough 2.5 ohm carto's that read AROUND 2.5 ohms on more than one occasion.

Thanks much folks!

Wow. Even more options to consider. I'll start looking at, and checking the measurements of, your suggestions. I definitely want to stay with a fairly short mod, since I vape at work & want to be discrete. The assembled eGo-W is right @ 6" w/o the cap and that sort of sets my upper limit. I've gotten away with it so far by telling them it's my "inhaler". HA!

@Dan-I'll dig up my multimeter & check one (or more) of the new clearomizers when they are delivered and see what they read. I thought there was some sort of 'standard' these things are manufactured to. Heh.

Yeah bud, they are now, to an extent. Most of them will measure pretty close, within 2-3 ohms at the very worst. And most vendors will now label them like "2.7 - 3.0 ohms" if there is a variance. I always measure mine when they come in, just because I have TONS of expensive meters around the house because of my job.

Puresmokers icon is probably the smallest 3.7v mod I have. Its pretty tiny, and the battery life is nice. Works great with a LR atty or carto, its pretty discrete.
