Noob looking to purchase his first mod. (In need of guidance)

I am new to the vaping world and in less than one month, I am ready to dive head first into the deep end. I don't want to wait one year or longer before I purchase my first mod because I don't want to look back and wish I would have done it sooner. I realize I haven't been vaping for very long but the day I started was the day I put down the cigs. I was a smoker for 15 years smoking up to two packs of Red's per day. I had roughly half a pack left and through them away as soon as I realized how much healthier and how much better vaping tastes. After wasting a few dollars on disposable E-Cigs (by the way, if you're into disposables or keep them for emergencies, the Blaze Menthol's are awesome. Stay away from Njoy.) I promptly ordered 2 Diamond King Auto's and 2 Titan Manual XL's from V4L. I ordered a few different flavors of pre-filled carts, a tank and some juice from about 7 different manufacturers. To cut this story short, I have to say that I will never return to audible's. I like Vaping much much more and I think I'm ready to take this thing to the next level.

Onto my Mod questions. I like Vaping Fruit, Mint and Menthol flavors. I don't know that I should spend the extra money on a variable voltage mod due to liking my vapor on the cooler side. I think cool vapor seems to suit fruity/minty flavors better while warmer vapor suits tobacco/desert/coffee flavors better. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. If you think I'll be better off spending my money on a variable mod, please let me know. I would like to stay under $100 but if spending more will be that much better, I will. If I can spend $50 and get something decent than great. I like saving money.

So far, I think the mod standing out the most to me is the VP Pearl FV from Vaper Life. I just love the looks of this mod, especially the LED band.

Anyhow, if anyone could give me a little insight, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I think you are wise to look for a mod right away. I went form KR808's to a GLV 2 super mini, love it. Then I just got a mini Provari, love it. You can skip the others and just go to the better ones and not be dissapointed. It worked for me bnrk

I went from a 808D, to an eGo, and now I'm using a lava tube and I love it. I want to eventually upgrade again, just for my hobby's sake, but as my first mod I found it to be an easy transition. I got my kit which was two batteries, the mod, and a charger for around $89.

get a tube mod. i spent way too much on stick mods, before figuring out i would have saved a bundle had i just gotten a LavaTube, or Provari or even a BOLT at the get go'.
My lavatube has a big battery for an all day vape. my provari mini, i use at home, because i need the charger alot, heheh.
I have both the lavatube and provari mini, love em both, and they both do everything you could ever hope for. great throat hit, lots of vapor production, etc etc.
i am using a 1.5 ohm dual coil cartomizer, that comes with the map tanks. message me if you want info on where and what to get.

I think the best thing to do is realize what is important to you. Are looks important, size, battary life, etc. When you find out what is most important, you can narrow it down. One good thing is there are so many choices. What is perfect for one person may be horrible for another.

Looks and size are very important. Almost as important as performance but no quite. Battery performance I could care less about. I can always purchase extra batteries and don't mind carrying around a few charged ones.

I went from an 808 batt to the Megalodon and couldnt be happier...got the power and veratility i was looking for..... and now that i was able to get a kick im sure i wont need another mod for a long time.

Im glad i didnt take small steps because your actually spending just as much if not more than getting something more expensive.

Just a few things to think about...you might like a cooler vape and certain flavours now but you never know things may change in time. If you spend more and get something that allows you to try different heat levels you might be better off in the long run.

I love the vaprlife mods... I have three and a fourth on the way.
They are very well made and work beautifully... one of the safer mods out there as well. Jeso knows how to make mods that work very very well.

I do like the aesthetics of the Vaprlife mods... don't be fooled into thinking that you are sacrificing longevity or quality for looks... these mods are built very well. Battery life is better than you'd think...
One of the qualities that has made me a big fan is the weight and size... I do like that they are a little smaller and weigh very little.

You'll get decent battery life... because they are built with efficiency in mind...
but not as good as if you got a large tube mod...

I am not in love with VV mods either... I do have their diamante and it's a great mod... but I find myself grabbing the 5volt mods most of the time.

...and if you do get a lava tube... make sure you get one of the real ones... not one of the knock offs...

Thanks for the info. I think I have my decision narrowed down to 3 choices. I decided to just spend the money on a variable voltage now and save some money in the long run. I know if I go fixed voltage now, I'm probably going to want a variable down the road. I'm having a hard time choosing between the Lava Tube, the Pearl from VL and of the Provari V2. I like the looks of the Pearl the most but everyone in the vaping world states that the Provari is the Cadillac of mods. What is your opinion on the matter?

I'm curious if the ProVari has all the nifty built in safety features that the LavaTube has. As a newbie to vaping and completely inexperienced with VV, I'd personally pull for something that won't let me kill attys if I've got the resistance to voltage ratio wrong.

I have owned and used Buzz Pros, ProVari, and LavaTubes (Chinatube is a good catchall for all the names used for the same device.)
