I need help please.

I have AGA-T and Vamo v5 Kanthal A-1 28 and 30 gauge. I know I can't get any lower than 1.3 ohm on my vamo.
I have watched tons of videos, read a lot but there one thing I can't seem tp grasp. Can I make a micro coil to get a resistance 1.3 or higher with the 28 or the 30? If so, how many wraps do I need? Another one, is there any sheet to show me the correct numbers of wraps needed with each gauge? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ok - so if you use a 5/64 drill bit 8 wraps of 28ga should hit 1.3-1.4 10 wraps will hit about 1.6. I dont know of a wraps=x ohms cheat sheet off hand. If you dont have a 5/64 let us know what you are using to wrap on. Its very dependent on having a good tight wrap and of course the diameter of what you use - but once you make one and then test it - you can take off or add a wrap if you arent spot on the first try. Before you know it - you will know from experience where to be on it :)

If you have a smart phone I would suggest downloading an app called "Vapers Toolbox." It does all the math and suggest the wraps for you and everything based on the info you plug in (i.e. wire, dual/single coil, target resistance, etc). I think it was made by someone on this forum to...thanks to whoever that was.

easiest way...

test it out!

wrap a coil on whatever rod contraption you are using.
-syringe/screwdriver/steel rod/piano wire... does't matter
- keep in mind the number of coils used.

test it out on whatever ohm reading device you have.
- if you dont have an ohm metre , you should be wrapping coils. safety first! (Vamo should be just fine)

Ohms too high? take off one coil... and test again.
Ohms too low? add a coil... and test again.

And there you have it, you just figured out how many wraps you need to achieve the desired ohms.
Just like our coil wrapping ancestors before us!
Enjoy your day and have a vape.

:)

Are you rebuilding a clearo or using a rda? Whats your target resistance???

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just a simple Protank 2. My target is in the 2.2 to 2.5 range. I kept notes on building with different sizes of kanthal, different drill bits and #s of wraps. I've also used a 4-40 machine screw, but it's not part of my notes. I don't use it anymore.
