Hey all! Another noobie here.

So my question....I ordered an e-cig online. And in my anxiousness in waiting for it's arrival, I decided to see if I could find one to buy in person. I happened to come across one at a smoke shop. I haven't been using it heavily, maybe a puff or two once an hour, and down to a third of what I normally smoke for what you guys call "analogs." I just got it yesterday afternoon. It's left a funky smell on my fingers, in my mouth, and Ive been feeling kind of ill. So I decided to check out the atomizer (as I have probably smoked it enough to get rid of the primer), blew it out la la la. I see threads of poly fiber fill sticking out of the heating element (the heating element is rececessed in this atomizer). The outside of the atomizer is metal. But inside there is plastic around the heating element and like a poly fiber type fill between the plastic and the outside metal.

Well in trying to clean out the fibers (after disconnecting it from the battery of course) that were sticking directly to the heating element, I ended up pulling out the poly fiber that was in between the metal and the plastic. Basically I have destroyed it. Im not too worried, as it seems like a totally subpar atomizer. And I more mad at buying the piece of junk than the actual destruction of it (not even having own it a full 24 hours). So can anyone reassure me that I did not destroy a perfectly good atomizer? And if I did(or did not) what was the nasty nasty taste and smell coming from? I assumed it was coming from the burning fibers.

Thanks and forgive my ignorance!

I am almost embarrassed in saying what it is after reading what you guys all use. But it is called iNeed. It looks like a cigarette, same size. Silly enough, I didn't research it until after I got it home. Couldn't find anything on it at all. Just their website, and only because it was printed on the box. Very happy to say though that I didn't even pay half as much as what they charge on their website.

I am now dreading the arrival of the other e-cig that is ordered. My husband who hates smoking ordered one for me as a surprise and then I started to research and came across this place. Think we went backwards in our approach to this whole thing.

you didn't accidently put the cart in without first taking off the cart"condom" did you?

The cartridge had a plug that I took out first, so forgive me I'm not sure what you mean by the cart condom. Guess I have more reading to do! But the fill and the plastic tube around the heating element were supposed to be there (although probably not the stray bits of fill stuck to the coil). It just seems like a very cheaply made atomizer.

I would try out the products already purchased and see what you like/dislike about them. When all that is said and done, research your next model of choice on the forum. You will be pleased once it arrives. It takes some steps to figure out where this journey takes you. I went through my share of bad products..Dont worry..it is all a learning experience
