Greetings all,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I just had a health question for people that have been vaping a long time.

Back in october 2009, I ended up getting swine flu. It knocked me out for several weeks. After I started feeling better again, i resumed my analog smoking. However i started getting asthmatic (something i havn't felt since i was a child) and had a chronic cough for 2 months. I went to the doctor and they did a chest xray. the xray came back clear, so the doctor prescribed me advere (from what i understand its a beefed up version of the athsma puffer). This med keeps me clear and functioning normally but i have to rely on it and get a 2 dose per day. I want to get off this medication and back to normal.

So as of jan 6th 2010, I started vaping and quit smoking yay me. I have no desires to go back to analog (yuck). After about a month of vaping, I tried going a day without the advere. I woke up still congested, athsmatic, and coughing but not as bad as before i started using the advere. So i can't tell if vaping is actually clearing me up or not.

So my question is, to all those that have been smoking for 01023948712034 years and switched to vaping, Do you guys have any change in your lungs? health in general? Any smoking induced asthma people having thier athsma go away?

Will i ever be able to run a mile again ?:confused:

Welcome to the forum! I'm sorry I can't point you to the right threads but I have read many posts here lately from vapers with asthma that have been able to stop their meds after quitting cigs and starting vaping. Maybe if you type "asthma" into the search box at the bottom right of the front page (way down, all the way down, keep going... there it is!) you can find some of the posts. Just incidentally, I have been vaping for almost a year. This is the first year in the last 20 for sure that I haven't had a cold, bronchitis, pneumonia, flu...anything! Lovin' it!

Hey :) Sorry I can't offer any experince in vaping yet, but I can tell you that I posted something early this morning about having irritated bronchials. That itchy thing in your throat that makes you cough or want to. Well I only smoke about half pack a day, but I prefer to smoke more frequently than every hour, but that is what I am limited due to the irritation. Here's the link, I got some good feedback! Differentiation between PG and VG mostly, but still extremely helpful if you continue to experience sensitivity.

thank you all for the links...they made me feel a lot better. I think my body just takes longer to heal than most people. All the stories i've read here people have started to feel better within a couple weeks. Since my athsma came out of nowhere after i was sick and never went away, i'm in a bit of a panic. I'll give it a couple more weeks before i try getting off the advere.

again thanks for all the info.

I smoked for 15 years. I had no issues with my breathing until october. after i recovered from the flu i jumped from free chest and breathing normally ( could even run 2 miles without issues) to horrible chest conjestion and tightness. If i dont use the advair I go back to the tight chest phase.

I think only time can heal me up. I was just concerned that ecig would eff me up further. If ecigs would deteriate me further or not.
