So I got a couple more noob questions for everyone. Sorry in advance for the long post.

This is not so much a question, more of an observation. I am still having trouble figuring out when/if a carto is toast. I had one I thought for sure I burnt up (tasted bad, etc.). I took it apart and it looked fine, very little burnt filler. I guess that’s a good thing in that I’m not burning them up. I also had one that seemed to run hot (coil is shot?).

I realize this is more of an experience thing so I’ll get it eventually. I think I am on refill 5 or 6 with them. Can anybody give me an estimate as to how many more refills they usually can take on average? I think I read that they can take 5-10 refills. Is this accurate?

So after I am done with my current supply of cartos, I plan on switching to ce3s. I think they would work much better for me. Although, how often do you need to need to clean them? What if you don’t switch flavors? For example, I am bouncing between the two menthol flavors and would use one ce3 for each (although they are similar enough I could probably use the same one). Does it get some type of build up that occasionally would need to be washed out? And do they last longer than cartos?

Lastly, I think I remember reading that the pre-filled cartos last a year before going bad. Is that true? I would like to keep a stash of them in case I screw up and need a backup. Does that also hold true for the bottles? Not that I think I’d have a bottle that long, just curious.

Three weeks today without a coffin nail!
Thank you so much SI and everyone here.

Getting hot doesn't mean the coil is shot, just give it a rest for a second. The coil is shot when it doesn't fire at all.

Try not to vape until you get a burnt taste. Also, in my experience, because of where the coil is on the SI carto, if you only get a little burnt taste, the carto may still be good. As you saw, they don't burn much and not easily.

As far as how long they last, it depends on the juice. I had cartos last 20-30 fills. The thicker or darker the juice, the less fills you will get out of them. You will know they are done when you can't seem to vape on them anymore because they are clogged or the taste is just horrendous. That means a gunked coil. Just use the, till that point, even if you are beyond 10fills. I usually tossed them after 20-30 fills evenif they were still working just because I figured i got my money's worth from them.

The ce3 last 2-3 times longer. I never clean mine unless I was just tasting a juice. I have 5 in rotation each with a different flavor. I refill them every day without cleaning. They are still going strong. Even if I am changing juices, I only do a light rinse if anything.

Ejuice is usually is good for a year, then the nic starts to change, just store in a dark, cool place (out of sun). You would have to ask imagine, but I think I remember seeing that the prefilled cartos last a year if they are in the blister pack. One you open them, I think it's two weeks.

Don't worry, once you try the ce3, you may not want to use cartos anymore. I keep giving mine away

I think the hot one was a bad coil. It was way hotter than anything I've had. I actually thought a batt was toast until I switched cartos and it was fine again.

As far as the burnt taste goes, I usually don't vape untill it is nasty. With this one it was fine then all of a sudden two really bad hits. I figured ok, I hit this too long, it's done for. I pulled it apart and it looked fine. It's just frustrating, that's all. I thought I was getting better at it. All the more reason to switch to the ce3's I guess.

As always, Thanks!

Congrats on three weeks, Jaster. Before you know it, you'll be counting the months...and there will still be new things and new flavors to try.

Thanks!

I'm not sure on new flavors tho. I tried the classic grape yesterday (everyone seems to like that one) and it was ok. The only tobacco that I liked was ry4 & 555 was ok.

The menthols & mint were the only ones I really liked. I'm kinda scared of the sweet sampler :D

The coil was probably lower in ohms. The resistance carto will get hotter,

Did you throw out the one you took apart? You can use it to drip test. I have a video on YouTube on how to do it

AWelcome aboard...When Mr O guided me to ce3's I now hate the cart for flavor and vape. I am new too. Just a month for me and really like vaping. Just make sure you drink lots and lots of water. I like the ce3's as you can see how much you have left before refilling. My flavor right now is classic grape and mentrol. I do use some others but those are my go flavors at the moment. Good Luck
