Noob with questions about Griffin

Hey all just got my Griffin about 7 hours ago. I have been working on coiling it for 7 hours now lol. I did it with some wick the 3rd time and got it to 2.0 OHM right where I like it. I took it apart anyway to keep practicing, what a mistake . I am now working trying to re coil with SS mesh and everytime I wrap it around the center post and go to fire it burns off the center post and off my mesh. What to do? Aside from learning how to do this of course lol, any pointers?

Okay, now I have it wrapped and is reading 2.0 OHM. It is burning juice but not lightening up red on the coils at all. I put a ML in it to test, it's smoking but very light. I'm so lost lol.

Did you oxidize your ss mesh by torching it? It sounds like you're getting a short off the mesh. Stainless steel is very conductive. I t

I torch mine, then burn some liquid off of it with a lighter, then install it.
