Hello everyone. I've spent some time lurking around ECF and decided to join. There is a wealth of information here, but I can't find the answers I'm looking for. I started vaping about a week ago after smoking analogs for 25 years. Yes, I went for a "free trial" offer on the internet by e-cigs (www.ecigsbrand.com). Don't panic, I'm aware of all the free trial scams and how they work. These guys seem legit. I paid $4.95 for S&H and it arrived in 2 days (1 bat, 2 carts, 1 USB charger, in a cool little case). Yes, I had to enroll in their cart subscription, and yes, it's expensive (about $80 a month for 10 cartomizers). I have not canceled yet, but I will if I can find replacement carts elsewhere. I started using the e-cig right away. It was a little weird at first, but I'm a HUGE fan now. Bat will last for 2 full days, same with carts, vapor level is great, taste is clean. I have only had 1 analog and it tasted like dirt. I know now that I don't need to smoke anymore and that is awesome! vaping just has a cleaner feel to me, and I don’t have to leave my office. I wish I discovered vaping a long time ago. I appreciate in advance any assistance you may be able to provide. Here are my questions:
How and where do I buy cartomizers for the e-cigs brand? Do I have to use the overpriced subscription, or can I buy them elsewhere? Can I buy them in a store (if so, what stores?), or does it have to be on-line? If I buy from another source on-line, how do I know if the cartomizers will be compatible with the e-cig brand bat? I’ve been reading about refilling on my own, but won’t the atomizer eventually go bad with a disposable cart? Can you even refill a cartomizer, or do I need a 3 piece to do my own refills? (Oh man……….my last cart just went dry…..bummer.)
I went to the mall today and stopped the White Cloud kiosk. I tried a demo and did not find it to be any better than what I received in the mail (pull, taste, vapor, etc.). I was disappointed to see that the carts sold there would not fit my bat. Bottom line is that I need cartomizers and I don’t know how or where to get them outside of the original vender with a jacked up price.
Thanks for your help…….glad to be on-board here.

Their pictures are no help. The end of the battery is obscured or drawn and the ends of the cartos are hidden too. No idea. And it costs too much too. $30 is 100% markup for a battery. $80 for 10 cartos is 150% markup.

What is the diameter? Is it slightly over 9mm or under?

Is it a 2-piece (battery + cartomizer)? Or a 3-piece (battery + atomizer + cartridge)? Which part has the recessed threads?

Hype,

First of all, for $80, ya can get set up with a great PV system (I prefer eGos) and juice for a month. After that, you should not have to spend more than $30-40 a month for nicquid and cartos, probably less; dependent upon your normal smoking habits.

I'm just south of ya, in Bradenton. I'd be more than pleased to assist you in your venture for a satisfying and rea$onable experience. That's not counting the flavors I have for testing. LMK if you're interested...

If The Mouse can't figure it out, I dunno. She knows her stuff. I'm not a big tinker-type to try and fit one brand on another. I spent $190 at the mall for something like you're using. It wasn't doing the job within a week. But I wasn't smoking cigarettes so it was a small price to pay for better health....

I'd suggest a kit that gives you a long vape before it auto shuts off and you can use any regular resistance 510 supplies like cartomizers and atomizers. This is the kit I start friends with if they insist on a PV that is the size/look of a cigarette. Other good suppliers have like kits. I chose this one because there's no mic in it like most 510 cigarette-looking batteries and it's just two pieces, the batt and a carto. Easy peasy. It's $28 for everything you need but juice. You've smoked for 25 yrs. I don't know how much. You may want to get some 24mg and 18mg juice in sample sizes. If the 18 doesn't do the job, 24 should.
510 manual cartomizer kit from smok tech

You CAN do this and you are. Congrats. Hang in there and ask questions. Lots of good folks here to lend a hand.

That price is OUTRAGEOUS. I know you like it, but you can buy sooooo many kits for waaaaaay cheaper that will be better and save you lots and lots of money. I'm very, very glad you've found e-cigs and that they're working for you. BUT....honestly, do some more research here on the forums. Those prices are just over the top. We can't tell what cartomizers would fit it because we can't see it. Maybe if you took pictures of the battery connection, the cartomizer connection, and the sizes, we could try to help figure it out. I doubt very seriously that there will be any actual store where you can buy supplies for it even if we could figure out what fits it. MOST of the e-cig industry is online. But there are some awesome vendors online, and you can get some great equipment and supplies. Check out the forum suppliers section. All the suppliers there are known (and proven) to be reliable and honest. Good luck.

Definitely a scam for what they are charging. Doesn't mean the hardware isn't good. My Smoke 51 batts are still going strong after 3 months. Dormous is right in that there is no way to tell for sure from the site but if I had to bet I would say it is a rebranded KR808D1 kit. a pack of 808 cartos from one of the approved sellers here is a cheap enough experiment to find out but I would recommend just buying an 808 kit. If it's a match than you have spare batteries as well and if not than just hand onto the old stuff and start using the 808's instead until you find out.

I mean they have you on the hook for $80 for 10 cartos right now and you can get a whole kit with 2 batteries a case charger and cartos for about half of that at many of the suppliers here. I personally use a 510 but most people recommend either the Smokeless Image Volt, V4L, or Halo kits on here.

If you like the idea of prefilled cartomizers, look at the KR808D-1 model and some popular ones are at Vapor4Life.com and SmokelessImage Volt (and I recommend manual batteries - safer from being damaged or killed by juice leaks and easier to get a good hit).

If what you have is 9.2mm diameter with male threaded battery and female (recessed) threaded cartomizer then it may be popular and well-supported KR808D-1 or it could be the incompatible rebrander model KR808D-2 aka E9 (LeCig sells adapters for the D-2)

If what you have is 9.2 to 9.4 mm diameter with female recessed threads on the battery, it might be 510 threading (510, 306, L88b) or more likely RN4081 threading or the mystery look-alike that fits nothing.

If what you have is male battery and under 9mm then it may be a cheap Chinese wholesaler model E8 (give up on finding anything for it)

Else I have no idea.

And even if you figure out what threads it has that does not mean that model's batteries are compatible with your charger because some clones and oddball models are reverse electrical polarity and will fry normal batteries.

But really - I think you should buy something else then get a refund for what you have.

Thanks Mouse. I know the refill carts for this kit are outrageous. I really just need to find a more reasonable vendor with compatible cartomizers. As of now, I only have $4.95 invested in this and I won’t be charged for new carts until next week, unless I cancel ahead of time. I’ll also still get to keep the full kit, but I’ll loose the warranty. What ever, if the thing craps out in 2 months, I’ll start with something new. If the worst thing that happens is I end up forking out a total of $85 and end up with a full starter kit (that I’m very happy with) and 12 cartomizers, I won’t feel like I got railed.
To answer your questions, Yes, 2-piece (battery + cartomizer); Slightly over 9mm in diameter. I'll hang a pic so you can see it. Again, I need to find a place to buy cartomizers, or know if I can refill these, so I can continue using the same kit and cancel the subscription.
Thanks again for your assistance.e-cigs Brand.jpg

If you're happy, then great. But for what you're going to pay for cartos each month, you could get a different e-cig and juice and still have some cash left. Check out the forums, you may find something else you like. Most of the e-cig suppliers have cartos now for the various models.

Thanks scheherezade. I am happy with the kit itself, just not with the refill subscription. I have checked out the forums, and while there is some great information, I still have no real direction. Bottom line: I understand most venders have cartos for various models, but how do I know which cartos are compatable? I would buy them now if I just knew where to go and exactly what to ask for.

Thanks!

Thanks Iffy. Again, I'm only into this thing for $4.95. I wont pay anymore if I can find a vender with cartos that fit. That's all I really need, compatable cartos, or to know if I can refill myself.

Thanks neighbor!

You are one of the many who find us because of things like what you're signed up for. Because of that, we can't completely hate them as they do open up the world of vaping to people who may otherwise have never tried it. But I have to agree with the others that it is a scam and you're not going to stay happy with that device. Most of us probably started out on something similar as the design of the "free" product you have is similar to the older models that we have all switched from. Like everybody else has said, your best bet is to give up what you have now and switch to a better model. I too use an eGo and am very happy with it. I've been using the same battery since February, day in and day out, and it usually lasts me more than 1 day. I still charge it overnight anyway, but I've forgotten to charge it and it's still lasted me well into the next day. But yes, do some research here. Switch to something you WILL be happy with later. No sense wasting money on a product that you could put towards something better quality that will last you longer and keep you satisfied. Those cigarette sized e-cigs are great for starting out. But unless you want to carry around 5 or 6 batteries with you, a charging pack, or stay next to a charger all day, you'll want something bigger and better. But yeah, cut your losses with what you have now, and move on to something better :) Good luck and happy researching :) I'm sure if you wanted to PM any of us, we'd have no problems answering your questions personally if you'd like.

YES!!! Exactly. thank you mouse.

I'm normally not one to go off topic and suggest other ecigs if you're asking a question about something specific. But you've stated your kit came with 1 cigarette sized battery (somewhere in the 180 mah range presumably). We also have no idea what type of connection your battery has, so we don't know if you'd be able to find replacement/extra batteries. I think that's the reason we're all saying to switch to something that will keep you happy in the long run. I'm sure anybody here will tell you, that with a battery that size, you'll be lucky to get 1 hour of use out of it. With no extra batteries, when that one runs out, you'll have to wait for the one you have now to charge before you can vape again. I think that's the reason you're getting different answers from people though, myself included. I normally agree with trying to help with the question asked by the OP (original post). But I have to agree with others on this one.

Boodle, Sound advice! I don’t know what any of it means, but it sounded good. What’s a 510? My kit does auto shut off and all the other cool things. I really just need to find a vender that sells compatible cartos (how do I accomplish that?). How do I know, if buying from web, if they will fit my batt? Are cartos sold in stores?

Thanks for your time and kind words of encouragement. Vape-on!

Thanks Jan for a solid response. Being so new sometimes means that you don’t even know what to ask for or how to ask for it. That is where I’m at. Here is a pic, maybe it will help. It's just over 9mm in diameter. e-cigs Brand.jpgI appreciate any additional direction you can provide on what cartos will fit and where I can get them.
