Welcome and congrats on starting out. Just remember, vaping isn't magic - it'll still take effort to fully ditch the smokes, so wait til you're good and ready. In the meantime, every smoke skipped is a victory! Enjoy your time here and never hesitate to ask any questions. We're all here for each other here.

I am another former dual user. I really needed to quit, and rather quickly, as I was so ill at the time. It was a bit of a bear, but dual using the first week or so did help. Yep, count the cigs you don't smoke, and whatever you do, don't stop vaping. The more you vape, the more you will reinforce you are becoming a vaper. I forced myself to vape immediately before and right after a cigarette, paying very close attention to whether or not a cigarette even brought me satisfaction. It was a tough transition (I don't think it's ever painless or easy) but I am not the kind of vaper who just picked a vape up, and that was it. I'd dual used on and off for many years, sometimes stopping vaping altogether, but this time around, I was pretty determined about it. The support here at EFC helped immensely, and it still does (I still get the odd cigarette craving here and there, and I may always have them) but at least I know how to handle them now. Ignore, (complain if necessary) and vape, vape vape....

Welcome to ECF and I hope the transition goes smoothly for you, whenever that day is. :)

Hello and welcome to ECF. I also was a dual user when I started out. I dual used for maybe a couple or so weeks before I set a date to totally put down the cigs and vape full time. One thing you might try is to have a bottle of juice with a bit more nic in it for when the cravings are strong. Good luck on your vaping and remember we are here to help.

Welcome to the forum. I'm a new member myself.

These forums have been extremely helpful. Support is so often key for stuff like this and there's a lot of support here.

And even with vaping, quitting is extremely tough. Don't beat yourself up for not meeting some schedule you think you should be following. Even if you have to dual use for a while, it's okay. You're already making progress and that's good.

Hi B-Dang and welcome to the forum! I am new to vaping as well....only a few weeks now. As you are, I am still dual using and I am ok with that. Like you, I am counting all the cigs I am not having as little victories. It is incredibly hard to change (for me anyway) a 37 year habit. Be gentle with yourself.

Hello and welcome! Very nice to meet you and glad it's going well for you!

I quit smoking when I picked up vaping, I never did dual use, but lots of people do - we all do what works for us.

As already mentioned, it may take some time but each cigarette you don't smoke is a definite victory!

(PS - as our like feature is out atm, then every one just consider your posts liked by me!)

LOL, this is why I told Oliver "no feedback" though I did give some, but I'm resistant to changes. I've gotten used to "liking" posts.

Oliver, when I meant no feedback, I meant I didn't want to give *you* feedback, not that I didn't want to be able to give feedback at all, LOL (I'm sure he knew what I meant). This may have to do with a request made by some members for a separate "read" and "like" button, for posts that were tragically tragic, and you didn't want to like them, but maybe to acknowledge them?

*And* I'm *Quite* sure I'll be fine with the new system eventually, it just.... New forum setup updates are just a *bear* to get running. I modded on a (much less strict) forum at one point for other things, and updates were always a PITA as they were getting going, but they usually turned out Just Fine in the end. It's an amazing amount of work that goes into it, too, from what I understand.... Our admin used to have fits, and he didn't solicit member feedback at *all* :)

This may be the one time I can "like" myself, so I'm going for it,:lol:.

Thank you i never did think of that way but your right just by having the vape my daily cigarette use has been cut in half if not more. Was buying a pack every other day but now its 2 a week if that, small victory's really do add up.
Welcome and glad you joined.
Cut half now but after you get the hang of vaping, the smokes may disappear entirely. Keep up the good work.
