Oh, one other thing: there some YouTubers who did really large numbers of videos about MTL vaping and at least one guy who actually designed a newer rdta specifically for MTL. I bought one. It was quite good. They may still be around and will also know a lot more than me. They were sucessful YouTubers though so I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them were multi millionaires and won’t have a lot of time. Still you might get lucky.

Hello all. I have been smoking cigarettes for 41 years and I simply cannot afford them anymore. I just today received my vaporesso Armour Max and I have already managed to destroy the 0.2 ohm mesh coil by powering it with no liquid in the mod. I hope you can accept me and excuse what I assume will be a litany of questions.
    Welcome to ECF.
I was also over 40 years on cigarettes before I found out about vape.
It wasn't easy though, but 3 years later I'm still cigarette-free.
Just ask questions, we're here to help.
Which countries do you live in?

Yeah man... But he is a new vaper who is trying to cut off the cigarettes... and probably he is not sure on what device will suit him the best... !?
So i think it's too early for an RTA for now... i think it's better to try a simple mtl tank with pre-made coils as a start... and later on his can switch it into RTAs if he really likes - wants it... !?
(I think there is no reason to confuse him right now with RTAs, buildings, wires - Ohms - resistances, cottons... etc... etc.... !?)
    100% agree with you.
He is a beginner at vape, so it should be something simple, the most important thing is to find a atomizer and stock coil that does the job for him, and make sure he gets the right recommendation in terms of wattage, nic strength, etc.

All the advanced equipment we use, it comes later when he feels the vape works for him and wants to expand.

What really sucks is I would love to go to an actual brick/mortar store where they could teach and show people, but almost all of the vape shops around here are just hole in the wall joints, where they sell everything from cigarettes to hookas, you know?

See if you can find a good vape shop near where you live.
If you smoked cigarettes in the mtl style, you will probably be best suited in the same style vape-wise.

Good atomizers there are the Aspire Nautilus 3 and the Innokin Zenith II.
They obviously use their own coil system, but they have been around for many years and will be here for many more years.
Typical MTL coils from these two brands are Nautilus 0.7 mesh, Nautilus 1.0 Mesh, Aspire Triton 2 1.8 clapton.
For Innokin, it is the Z coil that fits in the Zennith II tank, what we mostly use is 0.6 dual coil, 0.8, 1.2 and 1.6. 0.8 gives a slightly warmer vape compared to the other three.

PS, pre-wet the coil before you put it in the tank, and preferably leave it for 5-10 minutes before you use it so that the coil has absorbed juice. Set the mod to the recommended watt strength that is recommended on the coil package, preferably start in the lower range.

There may well be others here who have other good solutions for you.

When I started vaping, I had an Eleaf 20w and Kanger top-tank. It was a small but fairly powerful MTL device. I used it for a month or two before I started wanting more, I bought a Nautilus 2 but honestly I never could vape that one without constant flooding. I decided at that point, I needed something completely different and went to a full size 2 battery box mod. And that's what I still use. The key is every time you crave a cigarette, vape like there's no tomorrow. You might even get nic sick at times so don't over do it. But that's what it takes to fully switch and leave the cigarettes behind. You can do it.
