hi forum, 1st post so saying hello and maybe some advice to other newbies.

ive had a bit of a disasterous start to my vaping life. going from 40 a day i really shouldnt have bought a rok kit to begin with! i think they're brilliant for a light smoker but not for me, the batteries and PCC just couldnt keep up with me, also slight negative for adverting that 1 cart = 20 cigs.

anyway my next attempt was with a Ego kit. bigger batteries, proper atomiser etc. shame i think i bought some fake gear. no Ego logo on the batts or attys, also pretty weak juice from same supplier. wont be using them again!

finally got it right now tho i think, bought some proper ego xl tank attys and some lovely juice from a well respected supplier, havent thought about actually getting an analogue burning in 2 weeks now so i'm a happy camper! even happier as i've just copied some of the cleaning techniques used in a video i linked to from here about dismantling, wick cleaning and placement and dry burning and the 1 atty that i had that i wasnt 100% happy with is now vaping perfectly!

my lungs feel nice, im not choking up any parts of them every morning anymore, my house stays cleaner longer, i can smell stuff (not all of it nice in outside world tho tbh, downside?!), i wouldnt say i can taste better yet tho, whats other peoples experience with that? have i burned out my taste buds for good?

anyway, enough waffling, hope that anyone reading this with a cigarette burning next to them might get slightly inspired.

Welcome pokerface to ECF and the wonderful world of vaping. I felt the same way when I started. I'm glad you found a supplier you like. Check down the forum to find other suppliers trusted by your fellow vapors. Some of them were started by members here on the forum and are always willing to help you with anything you need. Also you will find that their customer service is amazing.

I will say that the tastebuds do come back. You will find that a juice you first start with will taste different a week, month, two months after first quitting analogs. The other thing you will find is that there are so many different liquid suppliers that the flavors are different also. You could take three like flavors from three different vendors and have three different tastes. So shop around find the one that is what you like and enjoy.

Welcome again and happy vaping! :D

im thinking i like fruit flavours so far, been chomping on apple a lot as i got 30ml with my decent attys, also menthol works good for me as i used to smoke menthols when i bought tailor mades. do need good th though at the moment to keep cravings away. so going to buy a few dozen sampler bottles from various suppliers and see which ones hit the spot. also fancy having a bash at diy, have got a ltr each of pg and vg from ebay so deciding where to get the max strength nic juice and flavours from now.

Welcome to the freedom of vaping! Yes, your taste will return...just as your sense of smell...it can be a bit bittersweet. Your fave beer might not be that good anymore, etc. I am glad that you picked something and jumped in. I think most of this process is a continual thing...finding the "right" PV, juices, etc. Hang around, post often and let us know how you get along.

tbh honest i did nearly give up with intention of trying again in a year or two. that was after some disgusting tasting 3 day old fake attys and 2 battery failures. both from same supplier. then i got the xl tank attys. i know the tech isnt perfected right now, and that attys, batts etc all have a life span, but i like things that work (dont we all) without too much fiddling and these attys seem to be working perfectly so far 2 weeks in. i dont mind a bit of a monthly spend, smoking analogues was quite cheap to me (duty frees!) but it was still coming in at £70-£80 per month so if vaping consumables are about the same then its win win.

I'm not a total nOOb, I started Vaping July 25th this year, and went from a pack a day to 0 just like that. during the past month or so I have used a total of 6 analogs 8-o .... all I can say is Yuck I had a hard time finishing them after trying the delicious juices that are available for :vapor: !
The first few days of some nice Pina Colada juice I felt like Pavlov's dogs  . After 29 years of smokin' I finally found something that works for me!

pokerface I need a big TH also. That is by far the most important aspect for me. I like the TH from Johnson Creek, but alot of people don't like them. They are a little pricey compared to other juices but to each his own. They were the first juice I tried so they have a sweet spot for me. I tried some Totally Wicked Camel flavor the other day a friend had. It tasted good and good TH. They also are a little on the pricey side. There are a few vendors here on the sight that are members of the forum and have really good reviews. I like buying from members of the forum because they are connected to the community. I've heard great things about backwoodsbrew, and a new comer Copper Creek. I'm going to order from them in the next week or two.

Like everything else it is about personal preference. Find what works and stick with it. That being said be prepared to taste a couple turds before you find what works. :)

Great intro and great story. If a two pack a day smoker can find satisfaction vape-ing, I think anyone can. Also, I think most of us had similar types of frustrations when we first ventured into the world of vapor. I've been doing it for a year and a half and finally JUST bought a mod that I'm 100 percent satisfied with. I take a lot of grief from my friends and family about my quest more more and better vapor. Everyone is happy that I don't stink everything up with smoke, though!

ECF is a great resource to find a cheaper, higher-quality, safer vape-ing experience. Welcome to the fold!
