Noobie Question about side effects

I just got my starter kit last week! yay! But I'm noticing a couple things.. I have no allergies so I'm not worried about that...but has anyone else felt like they're coughing up a lung? I'm a smoker and I had quite for 2.5 years at one point before picking up the habit again.. this feels like when I quit and started to cough up all the crap in my lungs (and my nose was running like a tap too...which was normal I read)? Is this what's happening or is it an adjustment?

I had the opposite effect although my early all-PG juices made the nicotine irritate the heck out of my tongue.

Are you vaping medium to high nicotine in 100% PG? That can be very irritating. PG does little to buffer the TH or the irritation of nicotine. Nicotine is a skin irritant. Try juices with 30% VG or more. And if you are using high nicotine you could back it off - you will not have a nic fit. 3 hits of 16mg = 2 hits of 24mg

Also you need to keep hydrated and not overdo vaping right away.

And if you are using a big-battery PV with LR atty or carto, try standard resistance which is not so hot.

(refresh - I think I am done fixing typos)

What ecig and nicotine are you using?

I ordered a 510-T, so it's tank cartridges..I'm pretty new to it so unfortunately I don't know alot of the termonology. I'm also using high nicotine. I do plan on cutting it out gradually though

To answer the question about coughing. I don't cough all the time or just when I'm vaping. It didn't start til almost a week of use which is why I suspected my lungs were getting rid of the gunk from smoking.

Is your tank atty standard resistance or the hotter low resistance? If low, try standard.

Nicotine can irritant your tongue, throat, lungs. Juices with some percent of VG can help that a lot. Are these prefilled tanks? If so then it is Chinese 100% PG juice (and hopefully not more than 24mg which should be about like full strength cigs). I think tanks can use juices with up to 30% VG and still wick OK.

This is not unusual. Some people, when they quit smoking, experience the symptoms you describe. I don't know what the percentages are, but I've known a few people who went through this when they quit.

The thing to keep in mind is smoking is an assault on your body at many levels. Your body responds to the assault. Your respiratory system has been trained to produce mucus based on your smoking. Once you take the smoking away, the mucus production is out of whack for a while.

The thing you have to consider is the trade-offs. Let's say you hack up an oyster once an hour for the rest of your life. Is that better or worse than spending your final years gasping for air? Everyone has to figure that stuff out on their own.
