Hi...Normally I pride myself in my ability to research and ultimitly purchase the product I need and want. I figured it would be the same for me with Electronic smokes/vaporizers...well so far it hasn't been. I dont think I've ever been more confused with the amount and differences in products. I've honestly put about 2 hours into research here and other sites mostly via google refs.
So....after admiting some defeat, I was wondering if someone could help me make the right choices the first time. I'm looking to replace my 1/2 pack a day newport habit because of a new smoking ban at my place of business. What I want is as close of an experince to smoking a newport as possible. I would think that Newports are the hardest cig. to emulate but I want it too be as close as possible. I have heard some things about menthol 555. Please keep in mind that I have no hardware yet. I need to buy everything yet. Any help would be ummmmm....helpful. Money is not as much as an issue as emulating my brand of choice.

I took about 4 months to research e-cigs before I first started vaping. Beem vaping for over a year now. So far I've only tried (and stuck with through ordering replacement batteries/etc) the M401. I've read around here that for beginners the M401s, 510s and 901s are recommended.

Here's a good thread link (off the forums of course) to get you started (since I can't post links yet, I listed where in the forum you can find it) E-Cigarette Forum > The E-Cigarette > The ECF Library

The article is called "Buying and Using an Electronic Cigarette: A Primer"

Thanks..i wish i had 4 months ;) I'm sure there is one Newport smoker here that feels lke they have gotten it down pat.

Ironically I used to be a Newport smoker and the old Johnson's Creek arctic mint used to do the trick for those cravings. They've changed they're formulations though and I'm still trying to find just the right menthol. I've taken to mixing my own batches now, but I've taken more to the sweet flavors lately.

I will have to let others comment on liquids as far as newport flavor as I have never smoked them.

In terms of hard ware--My personal favorite is the 510's. I currently use Liberty flights for all my hardware and liquids.
the second choice would be to look at the 901's.
the 510's offer more vapor and more throat hit, the 901's offer more flavor.

we have all been in your place and it really is confusing. sometimes you just have to jump into the deep end. the biggest key is to find a company that offers a good selection of hardware and liquids, good customer service.

once you make the plunge, things become easier and things begin to make more sense(after a bit anyway).

questions--just ask.
