Got this e-mail from my seller. "The grommet sits just below the center pin on the device. No need to remove the 510 connection, just pry up the center pin with a small flat head screwdriver so that it is completely visible. You’ll see a wire soldered to the end of it that connects to the SVD’s chip set. The grommet will be visible at this point. You can remove it by snipping it off. The product you linked me to is exactly what you’ll need, or you could go to a hardware store and find something similar. All you need is a heavier duty grommet to replace the stock one. Just ask a salesperson and they should be able to direct you. Just make sure it will fit. Install the grommet by sliding it over the center pin. A tiny bit of e-liquid can be used to make it slide more easily, but use very little and make sure to wipe it dry before you push everything back into place so that you don’t get any residual e-liquid on the electronics of the unit. It’s actually a fairly simple fix, and you should be good to go at that point. Any other questions, please let us know." this is the link i found to a replacement part looking through other forums. 510 Threaded Connector Insulators - Avid Vaper

also just found this VAMO - 9.99 or 0.00 reading all or most of the time? Here's the solution., directions for the same exact problem except on a vamo. I'll probably try it after i get the part sans the soldering part....i'm not messing with that.

I have a Vamo3 and the same issue arose, the insulator for the center pin pretty much turned to mush and the mod went nuts. Since I had vaped Blu cigs, I had umpteen cartridges I had saved (didnt know why then but I know why now;) ) I pulled one of the cartridges apart and inside it is a silicone grommet with an "airtube" on it. I took a pair of fingernail clippers and trimmed off the excess material around the edge to make it fit and reduced the "airtube" by 1/3rd its original length. I lifted the pin out as far as possible, unsoldered the wire, pushed the pin into the "new" grommet, re soldered the wire, re-inserted the pin/grommet/wire back into the base. Works great!!

SVD is terrible device while looking at reliability!

1. Fire button is a joke. Literally!
2. Spring under center pin is a joke
3. Sharp edges
4. Large threads on telescopic tube make whole thing wobbly if not screwed really tight

BUT it has good features, simple menu system and it looks good. I use it since august, spring is really bad so i have to lift the pin from time to time and the fire button is almost dead. Have to change it.

What is that in the pic lol. Yea I seemed great when I was new and only had a ego than mvp2. I didn't feel ready for a mech and don't have much money and said hmmm looks good since mbv was the only place I was familiar with at the time. Lol. I was only two months new and never ordered anything online and wanted to stop smoking and a friend says hey mbv check it out lol. So yea I'm not liking my svd actually I use my mvp2 always and use svd when mvp2 is charging lol. So hopefully my cheap K100+ arrives to retire my svd
