Hello all. Been awhile since I have been in here, and I am back needing some expert advice.

I joined this forum when I first started trying to quit cigarettes. Had a set up (can't remember the name) that was basically the cigarette sized batteries, one auto and one manual, with refillable cartomizers, and a good selection of juices. It worked fine for me and resulted in a dramatic decrease in the number of cigs that I was smoking. I really did not like the whole setup as I had to refill the cartos with a blunt tip hypodermic needle, the batteries would not last all day, and the cartos really did not hold much liquid. Most of the time it was more of a mess than a help, but it did help.

I then discovered the joys of smoking a pipe, and moved away from cigarettes entirely. That was November of last year, and I have been content with pipes and pipe tobacco. However I just am not getting the levels of nicotine that my body seems to need after smoking cigarettes for 40 years. I find myself edgy, irritable, and the wife says "not a nice person to be around."

I plan to continue with my pipes as they are enjoyable and the variety of pipe tobacco is tremendous. So I need to go back to vaping so that I can get hits of nic when the urge becomes overwhelming. But I do not want to go back to any system that looks like a cigarette. I want something that offers cartos that you can drip liquid into to fill, no needles, something that holds a decent amount of liquid. A battery that last all day, or longer with frequent use, and something that is reliable and long lasting. It also needs to be USB rechargeable. At this time cost is not a concern (the wife said...Geeze I must be bad).

So I turn to you folks to help make a good decision on a system. Thanks for your help in advance....and good to be back.

I'm in the same boat actually. I just came back to the forums after some time off and restarting my vaping journey.

I too started with the "cig-alikes" then moved onto an ego style battery with cartos. Too messy and I went back to smokeing. Recently My friends went on a no-smoking tear. ( baby and health reasons for the three of them) A brick and mortar store opened up and I find my self smoke free for 2 weeks. I went with a 1300 mah variable voltage ego battery and a nova tank. The battery lasted more then all day and the VV helped to dial in the best taste and throat hit. The tank (5ml) was more then i needed so I switched to a mini nova (2.5Ml).

Not the most expensive or high tech setup but it has carried me through the cravings well and I see it holding me over for some time. My only worry now is the "hobby" side of it taking all my money:laugh:

My first experience with vaping was with the little refillable cartos. Very little capacity, and filling them all the time turned me away. I bought what they call a mid size today, an eGo. It has a large tank- I have been hitting it all day and still have a lot in it. The tank (someone can correct my phraeology- i am new) is a mouthpiece, reservoir, and atomizer in one. It came in a carry pouch and came with two tanks- one of which I upgraded to a larger capacity metal tank. I think you would be hard pressed to drain both quickly. It is large, being about the size of a cigar when assembled (I got the larger battery, too), but it breaks down nicely. Welcome back from a newb.

Top fill clearomizers are pretty easy to work with and can hold 1.4 to 2.0 ml, or more. They are generally not very messy. There's all kinds of mods available...tube, box...variable voltage, variable wattage... You may want to learn to change wicks & coil assemblies or wrap your own.

...good fortune in finding something to suit your needs!

You might consider the Vmod, if you aren't totally committed to a tube shaped device. With the XL Vmod you can carry 9ml of juice onboard and use either atomizers or cartomizers and "feed" juice by squeezing the little bottle in the device. Easy as can be...and the XL uses 18650 batteries that you change out. Yes...you'd need a charger for the batteries. But the upside is that you get longer battery life, and can carry an extra battery with you, in the event you miscalculated how much power you have left. Quick switch to a new battery...and everything else is still all set up. Just keep vaping! :) VMOD 2.0 and VMOD XL There are a couple of threads here that can help you and give you an idea how the mod works. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...lling-all-vmodders-those-interested-vmod.html and also a really big thread here...with video! http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...0-bottom-feeding-mod-vapage-com-part-2-a.html There are other "bottom feeders" that work similar to the Vmod. But this is a good start and at reasonable price. Just a thought.

COASTIE!!! You really shouldn't stay away so long! How is that grandchild that you had just shortly before you disappeared on us? I don't know if you remember me..... Don't feel bad if you don't  You were an inspiration to me and your journal actually made me think that vaping might just work for me. It has! 10 months now without a cigarette. :)

Let us know how what you ordered is working for you. If it is problematic, there are other things to try.

Welcome back!!! :D

Well hello Robin. Of course I remember you. I am so glad that my experiences from moving from analogs to eCigs helped you....and CONGRATULATIONS on your 10 months of analog free. I also am 10 months analog free, but I moved from analogs, to eCig, then to pipes and wonderful pipe tobacco. The pipe smoking is enjoyable and certainly more healthy for me than analogs as pipe tobacco does not contain the additives and chemicals that are contained in analog tobacco, and I don't inhale pipe smoke. So overall I feel much better. Unfortunately the nic levels is pipe tobacco are not as high as analogs as the tobacco manufacturers do not infuse their tobacco with chemicals that enhance the nic levels, so my body still has problems at times getting the nic levels that it craves. Lately I find myself smoking the pipe way too much as I hunt for the nic buzz, and recently found myself buying a pack of analogs to get the nic. That is a huge NO NO for me. I do not like going backwards.

I sold my Volt setup to a buddy of mine, along with all the juices, as he was interested in trying it and I wasn't using it. In order to obtain the nic levels that my body seems to need I have decided to come back to eCigs, but am stepping up when it comes to the outfit. I ordered the Halo Triton kit and feel that with the kit, and 24mg nic level juice (to start out), I should be able to stay off the analogs.

Wish me luck. And again...CONGRATULATIONS on your 10 months free...keep it up.

Whoops...wait...the grandchild. My grandson, Trey is doing great. In fact we are coming up on his first birthday, and he just sprouted his first tooth. The grandkids (Trey and Jordynn) bring joy to me every day.

John

The iTaste 3.0 with a carto tank (IBTanked or Phiniac) with some good cartos, a carto punch, a carto tool (SYM from Big Daddy Vapor), and your ready to rock. A little top heavy on the iTaste with the big Phiniac, so maybe the IBTanked 19mm's would work best. USB charging, plenty of juice, certainly an all day vape if you get a backup iTaste or you can charge while you vape. I have this particular setup, and pretty much everything else as well, and this sounds like it might be a nice fit for you. Best of luck and welcome back!
