Look at the end (on the cartomizer) where it screws onto the battery. See that indention in the middle? You can use a small eyeglass screwdriver and turn it to adjust the draw. Do not push in or down-you can damage the unit. Just turn. I haven't had to do this with mine-haven't got in any 510 carto's, just the 808's. And if you post on ikens site, he will gladly help you through the process.
This is for the 808's-Like I said not sure if the same is true for the 510 carto's-check with iken.

umm could you explain how that works or where you heard that...link ? I don't know about turning that because that is where one end of the element is attached to and you could damage your element...

I don't have a 510 carto.. but I would assume it is generally the same construction as the KR8s...

Not saying you are actually wrong,, but I would like more information on that tip

EDIT: HI Girl nice to see you :D

I know if I pull too hard on either carto there is some air noise, but on a regular slow pull
it seems fine to me. I have gotten the 510 from two places with no difference between them at all. LitecigUSA.net and VaporsHeaven.com both seem like good choices for me

RRVaporz for the win! $7 for 5 blanks. SUPER FAST shipping too!

Agreed....

That sounds like some really "strange" advice to me.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...8-901-adapters-bit-good-info-no-air-flow.html

I told her to check with iken first, since I have not done this. I stated this fact!!!!!
Please do be so quick to judge.

Not sure if that was directed to me ,, no judgement here

It could be a bad idea as I have only read about it and I am still looking for the thread that gave more description to the process.

I saw the first link which appears the video is talking about the adapters which I did just try and it seems to adjust the center post out or in (must be how it is structured) and it does seem to affect the draw, but I can't tell from my quick test.
one thing is that you could adjust how the slots of the carto and adaptor meet which would change flow.... this is all with tests of the KR8 since that is all i currently have as far as cartos go

the link where doots made the comment.. not sure if was a misinterpretation on doots part. or what... but I don't think someone actually adjusted the carto center post by twisting... again not sure about the 510 carto... but I would guess it is like the KR8 where the center post is just slide in.. so it could be pulled or pushed (carefully)

twisting might not kill the carto,, but really could mess the element up...

I have taken apart the carto before... also I know(goes with 3 piece atties as well) that some times you have to pull the center post out a bit (carefully) to make contact with some PVs... you know when you hear the question "why does my atty work on one mod and not the other, is my mod broke"(paraphrase)

this is all about people learning.. I am sorry if my post seemed like a judgement ( that is if you were directing it at me) but please understand most people don't mean to judge.. they just try to prevent misinterpretation of information.

Hey LGD-I am searching like crazy to find the discussion. I am not having any luck locating the thread. I will keep looking. I did not pull this outta my back end. LOL.
I know they talked about turn the notched end ever so slighly and to be careful as it could disconnect from the inside.
Maybe it was some crazy dream I had and I need to learn reality from sleep induced thinking.

No directing-just defending a bit.

Getting too much air is MUCH better than not getting enough air because it is very easy to fix.

Take a round, wood toothpick and file / sand the end of it to a fine point. Then plug one of the small holes on the side of the carto with the tooth pick.

My tech is to push the toothping in until it will stay in be itself. Then I cut it off flush to the carto with a razor blade. What you end up with is a plugged hole that is flush to the diameter just below the threads.

Like I said, too much air can be fixed, not enough air is very hard to fix.

Let us know if this works.
